Hey, I'm new to the board and I have a burning question. I'm looking to get a yellow diamond and I was wondering how yellow S-Z grade diamonds are and what the average wholesale price per caret is for diamonds of those grades? Also, What Clarity grade would you recomend for a prong set radiant cut stone for someone who wants the most fire possible for the lowest price?

Rebecca

I don''t know the prices, however, here is a link to a stunning Infinity, I1, S colored diamond set in silver by glitterata

Hi Rebecca

I take it a radiant is what you want?

If so, radiants can show more colour, in fact this is the reason so many fancy colour stones are cut into radiant shapes. As to how yellow an S or T colour radiant will be its impossible to say without an actual stone and a lot more info. Don't worry about wholesale prices either as this won't apply, you will pay retail. You can try a search above to get a feel for prices. If you could find a radiant in these colour grades it would save you money over the true fancy colour graded stones, but much depends on personal taste so really best if you could view any diamonds in person. Also stick to GIA graded stones where possible.

Clarity - you could look at GIA graded SI1 or SI2 if verified eyeclean, also it is cut quality which is responsible for fire, not clarity.

Are you in Europe? Just curious as it is morning in Europe, If so try this vendor - www.diamondhouse.be

Yep I want a radiant. I''m asking for wholesale price because I''m planing on making a custom piece. And I want a ballpark estimate for how much the stone will cost.

Its very difficult to say as our search tools lowest colour is an O, concerning wholesale versus retail pricing, even though some places might advertise their prices as ' wholesale', if they sell to the public they are retailers and retail price is what the customer pays.

Pricing will also be dependant on size or carat weight. It might be best to decide on a vendor and see if they can locate some suitable diamonds and give you a cost estimate.

Where are you located vaguely? If you are in Europe, this vendor might be able to help - www.diamondhouse.be
