Can Ideal Scope or ASET be used on mounted diamonds?

I wanted to purchase a ideal scope or ASET to use on mounted diamond jewelry. I wanted to know if IS and/or ASET can be used on mounted diamonds? And which would be better to use on mounted diamonds (round diamonds)? Thank you!

ASET is easier to use on mounted diamonds in my experience.
Either one can be used on mounted diamonds but getting a good back light is hard in a setting with IS.
