Can gold be added to this setting?

Can the area indicated by the arrow be built up a little bit with additional metal? My ring is 14K yellow gold and the culet of the stone sits flush with the bottom of the setting and presses against the skin on top of my finger. I'm wondering if this area could be built up by about 1mm or so in effect raising the stone up a bit. Is this doable?
Of course I'll ask my local jeweler, but thought I would ask here first to see what the opinions are.

I don't see why not - adding metal to metal seems to be pretty easy if they are the same
