Can anyone guess what this stone is ?

I’ve had this for about 15 years sitting in my jewelry box it a beautiful stone whatever it is , could be glass for all I know but it looks different in different lighting sometimes it looks blue other times blue/green and sometimes I detect a hint of very light yellow . The cut is so pretty and it has a glow to it . Maybe someone here has seen this before ?

It looks like tourmaline, i see dichroism in a few of the pictures. What metal is it set in? Did it come from a pearl necklace?

I got this in a grab bag of costume jewelry at Goodwill for .99 cents about 15 years ago it had a spring type band I guess they wore it as a bracelet but I took that off , it seems to be gold but I’m really not sure . It’s beautiful in person and depending on the the angle you look at it you can see rainbows like a diamond. I thought it could be but not sure a Zircon possibly ?

not likely..wrong sheen and wrong look for zircon.
leaded glass is slightly possible.

Get the metal tested if it's not gold it's probably paste or glass if it is gold then it still could be paste or glass or a tourmaline....

It reminds me of a synthetic stone perhaps spinel ...

Agree. Looks like the setting is a base metal with some corrosion/oxidation at the edges. Makes it unlikely to be a semi-precious or precious gem.

lovelly deep colour
sling it on a chain and start wearing it
