Can a less than delicate Mom have an Emilya Halo from VC?

Hi All! i have a question about how to be design the Emilya Halo with Victor Canera to be safe & durable. I have been soaking up any and all info on designing my perfect micro pave halo & found that Frankie's is it. I want to tell Victor to follow her exact specs with the 1.8mm shank, etc... I will be going w/ a more square cushion & will not be wearing it with a WB so I want single cut pave in the stems and donut. My question is... as a stay at home Mom of 2 kids who does a good amount of house work should I still tell Victor to follow Frankie's exact specs for the ring? I wonder if you all think anything should be tweaked considering I am fairly rough on jewelry throughout the day? I don't want to sacrifice the 'delicate-ness' of a ring like this so having it hand forged to me is essential for establishing strength And I want the ring to last with little maintenance.. Will I regret going this delicate? I know that Victor is a master of his craft that probably needs little instruction but I wanted to Ask if anyone can offer any suggestions for those of us who are less than delicate with our rings?

Re: Can a less than delicate Mom have an Emilya Halo from VC

:wavey: Hi! I have an Emilya, 2 kids (both toddlers) and I can tell you from experience that it is worth paying the extra for a VC halo! I never baby my rings and I have never had a problem with them at all. My ring still looks brand new and fabulous so I wouldn't worry at all. I also pretty much never took it off (I now no longer wear it as my upgrade halo is being made so my current set is in the jewelry box) so I would not worry about durability at all.

When I had my set made the first go around I just told VC that I wanted Frankie's ring exactly. He took it from there. You don't need to micromanage VC as he has done this ring a thousand times and knows what will look best for your center. I would just say you want Frankie's ring and he will do the rest.

EDIT: and just to add he might have to make some changes to your ring. For example though I said I wanted Frankie's ring exactly we had to change the shank from 1.8mm to 1.9mm because my ring was a size 6 (vs. frankie I think was a size 3.5). So small adjustments might have to be made but you shouldn't notice the difference at all in the overall look.

Stargurl78: Yes, her ring is AMAZING! Exactly what I want except I don't want the 2nd pave row around the edge of my halo. But hey, that'll just save me $ in the end.

Sarahbear621: Thanks for your input on the wear and tear of your Emilya! Glad to know that I am not alone with being rough on jewelry. Good luck with your next upgrade! This is my 10 year upgrade & it's so exciting! Having 2 toddlers is no joke, huh?! Lol

And for what it is worth I also had dimonds on my donut/ struts. I always wore a spacer (got off esty for $220 in PLAT) and wore it between my ering and wband with no problems at all. So if you get the Emilya and feel naked without a band like I did, a spacer is a great option if you don't want to solder.

Ditto.
I have VC's Emylia Halo with diamonds on the donut as well and wear it with the matching band and have a 1mm plat spacer between them from Etsy vendor Jeweller On The Roof.
I've also got two munchkins (2.5yrs and 5mths) and a very hectic lifestyle and I honestly don't feel like I baby my rings at all.
I wear my set everyday and would only take them off if I'm doing something like washing the car etc....which, let's be honest I haven't actually done myself for years.

I just asked Victor for exactly Frankies ring except with a 1.9mm shank on a ring size 5. My diamond is 2.12 ct.

My Emylia is a reset as well and I'm enjoying them so much. I'm so happy I went with Victor his workmanship and professionalism is fantastic and my rings are just sublime.
I worked with him from Sydney and despite being on the other side of the globe will happily work with him again when I save up some more bling budget....I may have to feed my family on Vegemite sangers and cups of tea for a while, hehe.

Nomissjane: Well, as you make those Vegimite sandwiches you gaze upon that shiny rock on your finger with PRIDE because it is worth it!! Thank you for the reassurance! I feel sure now that splurging with Victor is realistic.
