Thanks Skippy. Callie is back to her normal self, full of life. Casper though isn''t doing so well. Turns out he''s got a bad back. He was shaking, and not walking properly. It may be a disk problem. They took his blood, and will do xrays. He''s on heavy pain meds, so is very sleepy. Poor baby, he''s 13 and is my heart. I am keeping close tabs on him, he knows he can''t jump, so I pick him up and put him on my bed, he''s on a heating pad right now... Kills me to see this, happened all of a sudden. I think with lots of rest, he''ll be A OK.

Thanks Linda and Miss Lorelei!! Casper has made a full recovery. He knows he''s not allowed to jump up on the bed, and waits for me to pick him up, and put him down. He''s a quick learner, thank goodness. Now I need to buy those doggie steps for the bed. Will search online for them, haven''t seen them locally.

I got the doggie steps. Who knew it would be such a project to put together. So the steps are by the bed, and they want no part of them. I enticed them with treats. But they are having none of it.

DD said leave them there, they will get used to them. I sure hope so.

It''s like they are alien to them. Or they are spoiled by me picking them up, and putting them down. I dunno. I may have wasted the money... Darn doggies!!!!

HA Lisa, leave it to the doggies. Believe me they will try them and get used to them. Yes, they are used to you picking them up. When you don''t anymore they will use the steps. Doggies are so funny, they get spoiled so quickly.

When Mazie had her eye surgery, we had to hand feed her because she had the cone on. When it was off, she still wanted us to hand feed her

Linda, can you tell me about Mazie''s eye surgery. I picked Casper up from our Groomer, they said Casper can''t see well. I dunno, he goes after toys I throw, they land on carpet making no noise, he finds them easily. The groomer said he was bumping into things. I said I will check it out. But today I gave a hand signal to him from far away, he knew exactly what I was doing.... I know he saw what I was doing, and the fetch thing shows me he can see, Like how could I miss this???

Lisa, being Casper is aging, perhaps he has cataracts??? Our other 3 Lhasa''s did.

Mazie had eye surgery and one eye removed because she was in a dog fight. My daughters dog attacked her and ripped her eye right out of the socket.

I do know as dogs age, they do begin to lose their sight, just as we do and it is harder for them to see. My 3 had a film over their eyes. Does Casper have sort of a whitish film over one eye or both???

If he does or even if he doesn''t, I would mention it to your vet. I know Barnaby was really bad, he could hardly see at all, and it broke our hearts.

Please let me know ok???????

Apparently Bichons have really delicate endocrine systems? Regrettably we fed our last Bichon, Francesca, way too much people food so that may have contributed...but we''ll never know. We miss Francesca dearly of course..I am sure you miss Maddie as well. Anyway, Georgia is happy and healthy so that is good! Actually I do remember JR!! That is really cool that one of your friend''s was able to breed her dogswith him. When we looked for breeders for Georgia we talked to a lady that had some of JR''s puppies, who knows could have been your friend! Small world.

Man I loooooove puppies, too! I could just play with them all day.

Maybe FI and I can get a puppy one day. I miss Georgia so much because I''m at school, so I don''t get to see her very often now.

Awww, Georgia is a typical smart Bichon. They know all the names. Every word. I have to spell for the older one Casper. He is a trip, at knowing what is going on. I have both kids away, so will say on the day they are coming home, that Ashley and Robbie will be here soon. They sit on the top stairs waiting. And I warn them the day before they have to leave. Ash is in college, Rob is in boarding school is a senior. But to make things simple, I say they have to go back to college.

Rob will be on the 5 year plan, LOL!!
I have pics of them somewhere on here. I will have to ask Nan to dig them up for me. She took the pic when she came to visit.

Then does that dive bomb into me playing and looking for love. Every day, rinse and repeat. She is a love.

That's funny about JR. I will never forget him winning and prancing around once he won, that was awesome!!! He put Bichons on the map methinks.

I agree 100% about JR! He definitely made Bichons more popular. Isn''t it amazing how many words they know?! We have to spell so many things around her and sometimes she even figures out what we''re spelling it seems!! ( O _ O ) Aww your babies act just like Georgia about their humans! I agree, poor Francesca just got so ill so fast..it was horrible to see her that way. She lost her "spirit" if that makes sense..her eyes didn''t even look the same anymore. That is awesome that Casper speaks as well! I think Georgia''s only quirks are that she watches TV (a lot)...and she "hunts" bugs. If you say.."THERE''S A BUG!" she''ll jump around and growl until you either kill it or at least pretend to.

It''s pretty funny to watch! She''s getting more timid as she gets older..especially around strangers. We talked to the vet about it and he said it''s just because she''s not exposed to a lot of people anymore (when I was in HS and whatnot my Mom would bring her to come pick me up or my friends came over so she met new people all the time). So we need to work on that and he suggested taking her to a park or outdoor mall or something. Do you ever do anything like that with Casper and Callie? All of this Bichon talk is really making me want to get a puppy with FI after the wedding. Maybe I can talk him into driving all the way back to Georgia like we did to get Georgia?

As if May, June, July, and August weren''t going to be crazy enough let''s add in a trip to another state 8 hrs away! Lol. Yeah that''s probably not going to fly. Oh well. But maybe we should wait a bit longer anyway and adjust to the new place first. Now I''m rambling, anyway I''m going puppy crazy now!

Hey do your babies ever do the so-called "Bichon buzz/blitz?" Georgia does it usually when she''s playing or just really happy about something.

Unfortunately no, but I have a good friend who has one, and she is a trip--love that pup! I grew up with Lhasapoos. I''ve always been fond of Bichons, though. I love to watch them in dog shows!

OMG Callie does the same thing with bugs. Too funny that Gerogia does that too. You say bug and she gets beyond excited. Some she will pounce on like a cat. She uses her paw to play with them. I never knew a dog like this before. Must be a bichon thing for sure.
Oh and that Bichon buzz, isn''t that the best?
