I wish I had some pics, she makes earrings mostly, with briolettes. She is studying Strategic Management at The London School of Economics. She is having a great time and is going to Barcelona this weekend to visit friends from Penn. The flights from London are super cheap. Have you been to Barcelona Skippy??

Wow, she sounds like a wonderful lady! No I haven''t been to Barcelona. Hubby is dying to go! I will look into the cheap flights. How is the house?
 
I''m going to Nantucket tonight. Hoping lots of progress has been made on the house. Keeping my fingers crossed, hehe.

Kitchen cabinets are being put in as I type. The master bath is all done, looks great. The weather here is fantastic, cool breeezes and tons of sun!! Heading off to the beach soon!!

Wonderful news!!!! I am glad things are going well! How is the weather out there? What do you do for fun on Nantucket? I always think of Wings the tv show when I think of Nantucket. How populated is it? Sounds like a nice relaxing place.

It''s almost done Skippy!! I go back up on Thursday. The granite counter tops have been laid. The appliances will be installed by Monday. Oh to have a kitchen finally!! Can''t wait. I hope to share pics soon. Took before shots of the Kitchen. The only thing I can''t show is the beautiful tile, it''s not being done until the fall. Over the stove is a tiled map of Nantucket. Over the sink there is a Nantucket basket full of flowers that I designed. So am sooo excited to see that. Hubby and I plan on going back and forth this fall. It will be such fun to have the house to ourselves and no workman running in and out. The weather in the fall is amazing. Plus all the crowds are gone. So that will be a lot of fun!! And I have become quite attached to my 3 year old nephew. He lives there year round. So every time I leave he wants to know when I am coming back. He''s the cutest kid, so polite and is a beacon of light. Sigh....

We did granite counter tops, in Medura gold. It''s hard to describe but flecks of almost a mother of pearl, pink, black , brown and gold all at the same time. Very happy with it. Cabinets are white, with clear glass. The appliances are chrome/ stainless steel in a brushed finish, the floor is a soft pine. The hardwood floors are througout the house. Added bead board in the kitchen, living room, sun room, master bedroom and upsatairs, a lot of work, but it''s looking good. I would love to post pics now, but can''t, not all of them are back, have to put them on CD''s and go through them. Nan will post them, but we are both swamped right now, with getting kids back to school. Thanks for asking, saw pics of your place and love your patio, etc.. Looks very inviting, save me a seat!!! LOL!!

It''s great Skippy, it''s all done now. So fun having a working kitchen, LOL. We have been going back and forth all summer. We are leaving for Nantucket this week for a looong vacation. Can''t wait to spend time with the kids, family and friends. Therefore I will be absent from PS. I will try to lurk and catch up when I can. Bye!!!

I''ve been home for a week or so. I had a wonderful time. Great to spend time with family and our friends there. The dogs loved it, we have invisible fencing. They loved chasing rabbits. Our house is called Rabbit hollow. So the bunnies are plentiful.

But Callie my 9 year old Bichon got Lymes disease while there. And is on strong antibiotics. She''s doing well so far, but it will be a long road bless her heart.

Lymes is rampant in Nantucket, tons of deer.
 
Oh no Lisa, I am sorry to hear about Callie. I am glad the antibiotics will help her. I worry about Mazie catching that at my mom''s house. The deer walk up and down her street all the time and try to eat her plants.

Did she act sick right away? Hope she has a speedy recovery!!

We didn''t know until we got home, we flew on a private plane. Casper and Callie were enjoing the flight, they love looking out the windows. We got home, and it was the next day that Callie had some symptoms. By then it was the weekend, I was able to get her in, she was acting normal, just slow. Not her at all., They drew blood, and there it was. She will have more tests next week to see what her levels are at. But when I took her to the vet, a lady heard what she was there for and said, OMG my dog almost died of that!! I was like thanks....

I am so glad you caught it in time and the vet is monitoring her blood. Please keep us posted on how she is doing ok and give her a special hug and kiss for me.
 
Lisa, did she get vaccinated against getting it? When I got Maya I seem to recall doing that, but maybe I am wrong. It might have been in her batch of shots. With deer so rampant in our area and in the East, it makes sense? Though I think my friend''s dog had the shot and still got it. Can you really see a tick on a dog, with all that fur? It is not like checking your kids!

What were her symptoms? Give her a kiss and pet for me...I am sure she will be fine!

No she wasn''t vaccinated, didn''t know about that. Anyhow the deer ticks are miniscule tiny, tiny. She just all of a sudden wasn''t right, she was in pain, her joints hurt. She wanted to hide and be away from everyone. That just broke my heart. She was eating, drinking peeing etc.. fine. But you could tell when she walked she was in pain. You just know your dog, that''s all I can say. My Callie is the happiest dog I have ever known, and now she is very sad. The only thing that makes her happy is going with me in the car. So we have been taking lots of driives. The weather is nice, so it''s all good.
