I was just noticing that my baguettes are like in an illusion setting (you can see metal on the side). I''m thinking
maybe thats why I have never really like the baguettes because they dont put out much sparkle but maybe
thats because there is a lot of metal there. Your baguettes look big, white and sparkly. Can you tell me
what the mounting that is holding your baguette(s) in looks like at the side hidden under your diamond?
Is it a bar setting like the other end? I''m wondering if I can have bigger baguettes put into mine (and get
rid of those metal sides)? I think it would be an improvment.
BTW, its a 1.08 D/SI1 pear...these arent the best pictures because I was really trying to show my 5 stone.
tyty333: Wow, your pear looks HUGE!!! Your rings are gorgeous and the band matches your e-ring beautifully!
You're right, the prong that holds the top of the baguette is the same as the prong that holds the bottom (not sure if that makes any sense). I've seen some mountings that have a pocket/bar prong at bottom and claw prongs at top. I'm not sure whether there is a standard, though.
I had to actually look closely at your ring to see the illusion setting. It really looks like large baguettes on each side! Adding larger side stones might add to the sparkle factor if you feel that's lacking but honestly, I think your set is lovely either way!
sandiegolady: Aww, thanks so much for the compliment!!
The jeweler phoned me at almost exactly noon today and announced, "The eagle has landed!" I think she was almost more excited than I was.
Now that I finally have it on I can honestly say: I LOVE THIS RING!!!
It's more amazing than I ever expected and the setting suits the EC perfectly. The prongs aren't quite as dainty and elegant as I'd like but that doesn't dampen my excitement in the least. After daydreaming and imagining it for weeks I can't believe I finally have it on!!
Anyway, without too much more rambling, here are the photos...
Pure perfection! There aren''t too many rings that I think are perfect but yours, my dear, definitely is.
That is just a classic elegant setting and stone. Timeless. Enjoy your beauty, I think when you talk to people you''re going to notice they aren''t looking at your face when you talk, their eyes will be following your ring
Your ring is just gorgeous and the setting is perfect for it. What color stones are the baguettes? It looks fantastic w/ your beautiful J EC. Congrats!
