Your Leon Megé upgrade is the object of my affection

I've visited your thread several times simply to ogle!

Anyhoo-- I was wondering, if it's not too presumptuous of me to ask, if you wouldn't mind cluing me in on the price range we should aim for if I'd like something similar from Leon? I love love love your basket, but would have a smaller stone (~1ctw), and a teensy bit thicker band (~2mm).

i had a set made and he quoted me for the set. so i actually don''t know the breakdown for each item. but my guestimate would be between $2500-$3000 for the ering setting. this includes the pave diamonds (i think the proper term is melee???). so if you would like a shank that''s a wee thicker, it''ll require larger diamonds and probably cost a little more.

when describing the basket to him, i emphasized that i didn''t want it too v-shaped (not sure if there''s a proper term for it), but rather a little wider at the bottom. here''s an example of what i mean by a more v-shaped basket:

he was surprised i want it wider at the bottom as most people want it more v-shaped. so if you want something exactly like mine, make sure you point this out otherwise it''ll be more v-shaped. hope this makes sense and have fun with the process!

Thanks for getting back to me... I had a much higher price range in mind, so I''m extremely excited it''s looking like Leon could very well be in the budget. This may be a silly question, but does he only work in platinum?

I completely understand what you mean about the less v-shaped/pointed basket. I love the look of the wider basket bottom and that it''s not so traditional.

I''m not sure about your platinum question though. I do recall seeing some pieces where he''s used pink gold but I think the majority of his work is done in platinum.

I''m not diamondnut obviously but CrookedRock mentioned that Leon does also work with white gold...I didn''t ask him because the platinum price was so reasonable though!
