Hi all! For those of you that have been following my diamond search and providing help...thank you so much!! Your help has been invaluable.

Today both stones are in...ASETs are done- (with my small travel aset)....and I need to make my decision by tomorrow.

Please help me decide: I’ll post stone #1 in this post, and stone #2 right after in second post. This way their won’t be any confusion on which ASET is which.

Stone #1.

2.54 carats H VS2

Table: 57.5
CA: 34.7 15%
PA: 40.7 43%
LGF: 80
Depth: 61.2%

Here is the aset

Do you have pics / videos?

SI1 acceptability may depend on inclusions.

What would be the best way to post a video of both stones that I took? The SI is eye clean. I feel like the 2.54 might have a tad more scintillation.

I don’t think the rules permit posting of personally taken videos. I’d check before posting.

I am pretty sure you can - upload to youtube or vimeo or similar, and then post the video link :)

I’ll get that uploaded a bit later! Just running to an appointment. What do you think about the aset on the newest stone (the second post 3.2 ct). Everyone agreed no issues in the first stone’s aset, and good light performance.

I think we would benefit from seeing both videos to get a better idea of each stone. However, if the SI1 is truly eye clean, and the I close in colour to the H, (low H, high I) I would think the larger stone if budget allows.

Well, I tried uploading some really good videos but the quality is so poor from YouTube and Vimeo that you can’t see any of the sparks and rainbows that are going on!! Darn! Here are some pictures. Top two are the 3.2...very bad lighting today...dark and cloudy.

From the side-by-side pictures, my vote goes to the bigger one. It seems to have stronger light return along the edges.
Finally the most important question is which one do you like more? Since you have both stones, I suggest you compare them side-by-side in two lighting conditions (1) in door, close to the window (or out door on a cloudy day), check which one face up whiter (indicating stronger light return); (2) in door, under spot light/LED night, check which one has more fire. Pick the one you like more and your pick will already be right.

You can certainly see the size difference. Is there a discernible colour difference between the two stones?

Which stone do you prefer?

I checked them out under led spotlights, normal indoor lighting, and a cloudy day. They performed pretty similarly honestly. The 3.2 is noticeably darker from the side (kind of a slight brownish undertone) whereas the 2.6 is totally clear to my eye. But from the top I can’t see any color in even the 3.2. I honestly don’t know which I prefer yet. The smaller is more perfect spec wise but there’s something about a big stone that’s really appealing. I’m still torn between the two.

I prefer the smaller one in terms of light performance in the pics, but the size difference is definitely noticeable. Depends on what you see IRL and your preferences after living with both of them.

They both are very good stones. You have to make a hard decision, but you cannot go wrong with either of them.

I like the first diamond better. I prefer thinner arrows, it appears brighter to me in your pictures, and I think it is a VERY flattering size on your hand. I wish you the best of luck choosing the right one for you!

 Only on Pricescope would a 2.6ct diamond not be considered a "big stone".

I’m a size ho - I prefer the 3.2! I just also think the visible difference in light return between the two isn’t high enough for me to be content with the smaller stone. So I vote 3.2 :D but get what makes your heart sing!

I like the bigger stone and having a brownish undertone would be a plus for me but how are you planning to set it? If it'll be clearly visible from the side all the time and you think the tint will bother you, go for the smaller one.

Would you regret it if you didn’t get the 3.2ct. stone?

That’s hilarious!! it’s still a big stone for sure but it feels smallish compared to the 3.2!! .7ct makes a big difference!!
I’m going to be wearing them around today and I’ll let you guys know what I choose! :) Please keep any opinions coming!!! And thank you all for your help in this decision!!

And because we really can’t have enough photos!!!

They’re both beautiful and shiny!! And to my VERY untrained eye the 3 even appears whiter. Go for the bigger!!!!

what is your ring size?

And are they price similarly?! If so... the bigger 100%!

My ring size is a 5. The 3.2 is a couple thousand more, but in the scheme of things the price increase isn’t a big deciding factor since I’ll be wearing it forever! :) I think I’m worried the 3.2 is actually a little too big on my finger. I’ll have to wear it around and see if it starts to feel like a more comfortable size to my eye.
