I have narrowed my selection down to 8 diamonds. I understand that with JA you can pick 3 and get further evaluation (what exactly do I ask them for? ASET?). If you asscher experts could take a peek at my comparison link and pick your #1 and top 3, I would greatly appreciate it! I am a total newbie to all of this. I threw in the ones above $5k for comparisons sake but I didn't see anything spectacular about them that would have me go above my budget to pick those.

If you want some extra fun, here are settings I'm considering:

Okay, first, some of the 8 are awful. The ones with a lot of black reflecting in the stones need to be thrown out. I will tell you the three I would ask for ASET images for, but we can't pick which one is best until we see the images. I think this would be #3,4,5.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/asscher-cut/1.01-carat-g-color-vs1-clarity-sku-474026 (not as good as the first two, smaller diameter for one thing, but you may as well get images on three stones)

Thanks for the input

Any other opinions would be appreciated! :-)

In general- picking any fancy shaped diamond involves a lot of personal taste.
For example- do you like large corners?
Corner size will affect both the shape, as well as light performance.

I am not commenting on any of the diamonds you posted ( I can't as vendor) but I can say that photographs will give you a lot of the information you'll need to select- based on your taste.

About ASET- do you know how to read one?
If not, you're back to square one- basically depending on others to tell you if vanilla or chocolate is "better".
You already understand how to judge an actual photo......

Lol, I agree with Diamondseeker2006... some of the ones with all the black  You are in good hands with Diamondseeker2006- she is great at selecting assher cuts! Rockdiamond makes a wonderful point, you have got to choose a fancy based onwhat your eye finds beautiful as far as faceting. The ASET helps verify light performance, to make sure you are getting a lively, sparkly, dazzling diamond.

I hope this is the one with the nicest ASET as the proportions are beautiful to my eye from every angle:
