Buying a setting without trying it on - Advice Needed

Hey all,

In my quest for an e-ring, I've narrowed my search down to antique-vintage style settings. Where I live, I haven't found a lot of good B&Ms for this type of style so I've been combing the internet and visiting the fabulous vendors mentioned on PS.

There's a few gorgeous settings online that I'm definitely considering (some are truly antique while others are reproduction) but I'm afraid to pull the trigger without having tried it on in RL.

Do you have any tips and tricks for me? Questions to ask the vendor perhaps? Personal experience?

So far all I've come up with is:
1. Make sure there is a good return policy
2. If possible, try on similar rings at local B&Ms (proving difficult for me unfortunately)

I've run a search in the forum threads but haven't come across anything addressing this (I have no doubt I've missed a few threads).

Thank you!

Tacori has some pretty settings and I think they have a try it on app.

Hi

I think some of the online stores have, 'Try for Free option', meaning you could get look alike setting for free or for few dollars mailed
to you, once you see that, you would know exactly how the e-ring would look like, accordingly you can order it.

Yes, they sure do! I should have mentioned Tacori was the one brand that fits what I have in mind - I've tried on a few and will be going to a trunk show at the beginning of November. The Tacori website doesn't seem as detailed now as compared to 5-6 years ago. Many years ago, I remember visiting the Tacori site and I was able to get much more detailed information and photos, I'm not a big fan of the 'new' site. Anyway, I wish I wasn't limited to just Tacori if I want to try on an antique/vintage style setting in-person.

I've never noticed this option before, which site(s) have this feature?

Be sure to try Tacori on before having a diamond set. I decided to try some of theirs on one day and that style doesn't look good on my hands!

If there is a trunk show, then it'd be great to wait for that event!
