I am in the process of purchasing this ring and i wanted input/reassurance/claming etc. it is a 1ct princess cut set in platinum with an additional .98 cts of 2 pear and 2 round on the sides. the center stone is EGL USA rated as follows:

5.31x5.17x4.26mm
Depth=82.4
Table=75%
Crown 10.9
Pavillion 64.20%
Girdle= Thin to very thick
Culet= none
Polish= Very Good
Symmetry= Good
SI1
G
No Fluorescence

Thanks for any input. It is around $5,000.

Price aside, the depth of over 82% is quite overly deep. It is not uncommon for princess cuts to be cut this way, but if it was less deep you would have more diameter for the same weight... You would see what looks like a larger stone for no extra cost.

Hi Proposer,

Nice ring. :appl:

You might consider that the center stone is rather deep (depth=82.4%, 3A AGA class). It is not unusual for princess but it makes diamond look smaller.

These princesses diamonds for example are less deep and thus have better spread.

0.99 G SI1 69.8% 77% GIA vtn-med no gd vg no 6.23-5.29x3.69 $3263
0.99 G SI1 71.1% 73% GIA t-stk no gd gd no 5.5*5.64*3.91 $3525

Also note these prices are for GIA graded diamonds. GIA report is considered to be stricter.

Oops... David posted before me :)

WOW thanks for the input guys. I really appreciate it. So the depth % is how visually "deep" the stone is, thus a shallower stone looks flatter/bigger?
