MMM... there is a problem going from post#1 of this thread... if I am right saying the next, of course:
You, the Bscope and the I scope decided to use the word "dark" in different ways. Unfortunately, black or dark shades are used in both the Bscope and the Iscope pictures in a symbolic manner (to mark "areas" of the stone's crown showing certain optical propoerties) which may be counterintuitive. For all daylight creatures (people included), black means "lack of light" but not so for those darn tools!
Does this make sense?
These tools propose a certain color code with reading instructions, and than is up to each person's immagination to translate that into the immage of a stone. they could as well ditch the colors and asign a number to each crown facet indicated a certain degree of light return - same thing. it was even done on some past thread for the Iscope...
I really hope I will not see the day when an aestethic system based on numbers will become widely recognized
I wasn't relying on the bscope...I actually saw the stone in person...and the first thing my husband said was, why is it so dark in those four spots! BUT, that said, I have certainly noy discounted the stone...I want to see it again in every possible lighting condition and angle...and I am seeing one other that sounds good on saturday and one of them is coming home with me!
Now that I think about it, I think the title of this post should have been different. My whole problem was that this looked like a great stone on papers, and the bscope....I had a questions about #6, and that the stone looked dark to me in person...and I was a little confused why...but again, I'm going to go back and forget all rights and wrongs, and contrast and no contrast, scope and no scope...and just use my eye to tell me which one just looks pretty!
Hey all.... I just wanted to clarify one thing.... This stone wasn't a GOG stock stone...I called GOG and specifically asked them to get the stone in for me...I don't want any of my comments (potentially negative ones) to be construed as having anything to do with GOG and their stones, which are amazing. I ASKED for this one!
