Can anyone out there tell me how the results on these two measures of cut compare? If I see a diamond that performs really well on the HCA (say 0.5 or less) with "Excellent" across the board, does that imply that it will be show up towards the VH end of the Brilliance Scope scales? Are the two techniques comparable?

It seems much easier to get data to perform HCA analysis, and obviously not everyone has access to a Brilliance Scope, though it seems a useful tool.

Many thanks

The top grey tool bar has a search section. You will find many discussions on Brilliancescope that include HCA.
Pleas try that first.

Hi Bingo,

Some times there is correlation between HCA and Brilliancescope results but sometimes not. These are different methods.

. Once diamonds score less than 2, you have to see the diamonds yourself to find the best looking one.

Lower HCA score doesn't guarantee higher BS results. Some very beautiful stones do not score the highest with BS while you can get high BS result with a diamond without crown.
