So, my BGD diamonds by the yard necklace in rose gold also arrived a few days ago. It's beautiful! As before, I have a bunch of appointments today so no photos right away, but I promise I'll get some up in the next few days!
I can't wait to see it! (It is really best to not post here until you have pictures ready because people will come to this thread expecting pictures, you know?)

I know, I debated what to do, but I know people were wondering about the Whiteflash project, and I also wanted the WF people to see that I do intend to post all the positive parts too, but I just can't get to the pix right now so I thought I'd reassure people that they are on their way! And then I thought, well I'd better mention the BDG project too. But getting good neck shots is quite time-consuming.
OK, I got home from the chiropractor and am now rushing out to the next thing, but I found the glamour shots! Making time to post them because as Diamondseeker said, it's better that way! You may have to wait a short while for the neck shots!
The necklace is 15.75 inches, and there are five diamonds of 0.10 each, so total 0.50. The diamonds start from just under 4 inches from each side of the clasp and are spaced at 2-inch intervals. The chain is 14k rose gold.
Enerchi - yes, I adore it. It is absolutely everything I wanted. I think the sparkle does show up correspondingly more with 0.10 diamonds as opposed to 0.07 (which I have in a pre-owned Tiffany DBTY bracelet). I also think that having five diamonds starting at the side of the neck was a great money-saver, because those two diamonds near the back of the clasp would hardly ever have been seen. So it didn't seem to make much sense to pay for them! I rarely wear my hair up.
The rose gold is a soft beige-ish colour, not a bright coppery pink. It blends in with my skin colour quite well, so you just see flashes of diamond - well, that's how I see it, anyway!
I hope to get round to doing neck shots tomorrow a.m., in the morning sunlight.
It looks gorgeous!!! I'm so excited for you ... and perhaps....just slightly jealous....
Love the RG with the diamonds - and yes, that's what I would have done as well - start the diamonds further forward, just like you did do. I am excited to see the neck shots! They should be amazing in the sunlight! (feeling ok with all those medical visits? at least its lovely to come home to jewels waiting for you! )
I'm fine, thanks Enerchi! I was going to try to photograph the rose gold DBTY tonight, but photographing the sapphire one took much longer than I thought - two hours, including technical hitches getting them up onscreen! Anyway, I promise some lovely neck shots of the rose gold and diamond necklace tomorrow morning!
very pretty! can't wait to see neck shots for scale. i'm curious about the 10 point vs 7 point difference. will you post a comparison shot with your tiffany, pleeeease?
OK, folks, I am in the midst of photographing the Brian Bling! Gosh, it's hard to get good neck shots of yourself.
Ganesha - yes, I will do a comparison photo.
Ooops - it's 2.30pm! Time to phone my friend in the UK! (Pre-arranged call.) Will get the photos up in the next few hours, promise! It looks good with my WF sapphires-by-the-yard, and with my DeBeers three-stone DBTY, so I'll also post photos of those together.
Oh wow you got both!!! I am so excited to see these pictures! I was confused when I saw your sapphire/white gold one because I thought you had decided to go for that instead... How great to get both
Yes, I got both...splashed out from my savings (gulp!) So, this is five 0.10 diamonds (0.50 total) on a 16-inch 1mm rose-gold chain, with rose gold bezels. It's from Brian Gavin. Very pleased with the whole process, and the clasp is great. It's a larger loop than most, is sturdy, and a little kite-shaped, so it's easy to put on.
So, the first two shots show the BGD necklace at 15.75 inches layered with my new Whiteflash sapphires-by-the-yard necklace at 16.25 inches. (It's got five 0.13 sapphires and 18k white gold, if anyone hasn't seen the other thread.)
The last two photos show these necklaces with my DeBeers 18k white gold three-stone DBTY, which I'm wearing at 14.9 inches, as it has a loop on the back to make it that short. The total carat weight of this necklace is 0.22, and it has two pears set east-west and a central round stone.
First shot is the previous three closer up. The other three shots are the BGD with the DeBeers.
(I am going to post shots of the DeBeers with the Whiteflash sapphires on my sapphire-by-the-yard thread, and I've got a couple of great close-ups of a DeBeers pear with a WF sapphire.)
And here are the comparison shots asked for by Ganesha. The largest diamond, in the yellow bezel, is my Tiffany solitaire necklace and the diamond is 0.12.
The diamond in rose gold is the BGD of course, at 0.10.
The smallest diamond is a Tiffany DBTY bracelet in platinum, three-stone. Each stone is 0.07. I got this pre-owned at a reputable jeweller in Boston, at $455 off retail.
AWESOME!!! they look great on you - all 3, or 1-2-3... they all look amazing on your perfect neck. Sweet! I'm envious of your tiny 16" neck - with slack no less!! geesh....
But seriously, Smith, they are both gorgeous necklaces and you have chosen very well with your selections They sit well, they are beautiful in their individual styles and collectively. I love the RG on you!!!!
