I just noticed some of the amazing work that this guy does. Seeing as how I live in Houston, I think I might go with him. I just got off the phone with him, and he seemed like a really nice guy. I had pretty much already decided on a round channel type ring by either Martin Flyer or A Jaffe, but would love to have have Brian be able to make the same thing for me with a small fleur d lis on the side. Seeing as how I went to school in Louisiana, and have always like the fleur de lis, thought this might be a nice touch as a symbol of me for her ring.

Have any of you dealt with Brian Gavin, sounded like a resonable price for the ring. How were they on the diamonds, is what is on their site the price or did they come down some if you bought everything from them?

Thought it was really cool too how you got photos of the ring in the process.

Thanks

I made a purchase from Brian and Lesley some beautiful diamonds studs. The have fabulous diamonds, hearts and arrows! I get so many compliments Do a search on BGD or Brian or Lesley and you will see lots of happy customers. There are several custom pieces posted her on Pricescope. I bet they would let you visit there office; how fun to be right there in Houston.

bayoubengal: I see there is another Louisiana transplant in Texas. (I am from Louisiana as well) I just wanted to let you know that if you put this special project in Brian''s hands you won''t be disappointed...actually I think you will be suprised how much the ring surpasses any expectaions you may have! My fiance purchased my custom ring and Brian Signature diamond earlier this year, and I have to say it is the most brilliantly beautiful ring I had ever seen (and I am not partial

So for whatever it is worth that would be who I would choose for any project...especially one that has that much sentiment (I love the fleu de lis idea)

Thanks for all of your input. I called yesterday and spoke with Brian and he was really helpful. I am going today to meet with him to look at some diamonds and hopefully start the process. I was really surprised at the prices and was happy to see that he has items available in my price range. I was having a hard time making a decision, but I think this is going to be my last stop.

Met with Brian yesterday and it was an awesome experience. He spent over hour and half with me just talking about diamonds. Finally decided on a 1 ct round, that rates at .9 on the HCA scale. I''ve got the idealscope images of it, and would love to post, but can''t figure out how to post pictures on here.

Now I just have to try and figure out a setting...decisions decisions.

Here are the specs....using these I input the numbers into the HCA and it came back with a rating of .9, which based upon what I read it is really good.

Stunning, just like every other BG H&A

Once you''ve got the images and you know they look fantastic (they do) you don''t need the HCA. The HCA estimates performance based on the rounded numbers of the grading report, the images show actual performance.

I haven''t dealt with BG but several people here have recently and as far as I can remember every one of them has been thrilled. In any case that stone is a winner
