Bought WF preloved to use upgrade policy?

Hello! Just curious, has anyone bought a WF preloved stone (since it is rare to find perhaps the right specs) to then intentionally use their upgrade policy? I'm not sure if it's even worth the trouble but was curious if this is worth the savings and whether the upgrade policy would even transfer to a new customer. Anyhow, the thought randomly came to mind and perhaps it is thinking way too outside of the box. Appreciate the thoughts and ideas on how to find a 9 mm well cut MRB as cost efficiently as possible since my original e-ring was prior PS days. Can't seem to find something similar on the preloved forum and loupetrooper intimidates me! Thanks in advance!

Hi i would investigate. I know JA does because i bought one of their diamonds on ebay and had them reset it. They transferred all priviedges to me, and included an upgraded appraisal. Perhaps WF would do the same if they knew it was the policy of another vendor.

FWIW Blue Nile also will permit the upgrade privilege to transfer to a new owner, as long as the original purchaser provides something in writing setting forth the original purchase/order number and explicit transfer authorization to the new owner.

I actually wondered the same thing when I almost bought some pre-loved studs - maybe @Texas Leaguer wouldn't mind commenting on this since it's not clear? =)2

Hello @PierreBear

The trade up, buyback benefits are non-transferable.

Thanks for confirming everyone!

Maybe get your old stone recut (BGD) and then see if they (WF) would buy it from you toward a purchase of a new stone.
