So i pulled the trigger on this VS1 round from james Allen. It came in today It is a J which was a much higher color then i wanted (wanted F-G) but it has a light blue hue that cancels out any yellow. I can’t tell if the blue is noticeable what do you guys think? It was a 4.1 for $12k was a great deal, but now I’m second guessing myself whether its noticeable and should return it for something whiter at a premium $ or if this looks hardly noticeable and will not be noticeable at all once placed. It will be in a platinum solitaire setting.. the ones where it is really shining are under a garden LED Red blue white grow light. The others are under normal indoor warm lights. What do you guys think? Is it noticeably blue and I should go for something whiter, or is it not noticeable and is a steal at that price?

You have posted numerous threads about this diamond. Multiple people have told you it has blue nuance so it will look somewhat blue. I’m sorry but asking the question over and over isn’t going to get you a different answer. Yes it does look blue in the pics you posted. I think it’s pretty but if you want it to look like a natural mined diamond then you should look for a diamond that doesn’t have any blue nuance.

It has a greyish bluish tone to it. I can‘t see yellow. So rather colder tones than warmer. But very hard to tell from pictures. I don’t know about the price of lab grown. Someone else might know.

Unfortunately the larger the stone, the more noticeable tints/nuances are. If you're keen on a 3+ carat stone, buy from a vendor of CVP stones which I think for most part avoids blue nuance (but can be brown tinted depending on lab).

For 12K, you need to decide what your priority is and accept that you can't have everything. You can either buy a smaller, higher coloured diamond for that price, or if size matters, then something else has to give.

Personally, the stone has grey/dark tones compared to the JA video which is all to do with lighting. Now that you have the stone in hand, if it doesn't sing to YOU, then it's not a good stone. If you're asking as repeatedly about it, then I suspect that it doesn't and you shouldn't keep a stone because other people approve of it. Return it and keep looking.

I would give it an extra good clean and look at it under various lighting and make sure you’re happy with it. From the photos, it looks dull but that’s most likely because it needs a good cleaning, diamonds are grease magnets.

It looks blue gray to me. I’m curious how anyone grades color in these nuanced stones - how is it a J vs a F with the blue hue? So interesting. It is unique but if you want a Bright white I would return it for something slightly smaller and no nuance. It’s throwing gray shades to me and I’m not even color sensitive!

It looks white from the side but blue gray from the top. It also has tons of fingerprints so maybe try to clean it and take another photo.

I surmise this will show up grey/blue in at least a few settings. I personally find that pretty and interesting, but if you're after something that faces white the majority of the time, I would keep looking. (Either you'll have to go up in price for a higher color grade, or accept a smaller carat weight.)

It looks blue grey. I think it looks cool. But if you’re looking for a D color you won’t be happy longterm.

It looks grey blue to me. It does not "read" white in the photographs.
