Bought all your jewellery items - Finished shopping for life

Haven't started yet.

Well, a couple of rings, but that was ages ago, so they don't count. ;)2

I doubt I'll ever stop looking but by and large I'm done. Getting the 2.19 ACA this year was really icing on the cake for me and I was so happy to have the opportunity to own one of these stones. I have 2 carat diamond studs that are well cut - but not ideal - that are white and sparkly but I do think from time to time about possibly upgrading those. Other than that, I have my three stone, Tiffany band, Memoire five stone, three stone pendant and several diamond bracelets that I do rotate. I got studs for my granddaughter so not much else needed. I still enjoy seeing others get beautiful, new pieces of jewelry so I doubt I'll ever give up PS or looking!

This is such an interesting discussion and topic. For me, the love of gems and jewelry runs very deeply. It's in my blood. When I was 2, I was digging for gems in the hills behind our house!

Over the adult years of my life, I have collected many things which have truly satisfied me, and I don't feel the need to buy more of that type or gem. Frex, once I have an aquamarine pendant, I don't need more aqua pendants. I would love to buy a few things to complete or make sets out of what I have, but I feel happy about my collection.

I have slowed down, and have a buying philosophy of waiting for the best that I can find rather than just needing to buy something for instant gratification. If I could save for a year and buy one or two nice things a year, this would be ideal. I can admire things on others which would not fit on me and don't have a desire to obtain them, but enjoy their beauty fully.

I have downsized recently by giving away pieces which I don't wear, that are too young a look or come from a time in my life that no longer fits with my current mind state and reminds me too much of the past.

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop dreaming and collecting! It's my passion and my favorite pass time! It's a wonderful feeling to know that I already have some things that I've always wanted. The pain of desire is not so much pain anymore, but a kind of tantalizing enchantment. Jewelry is alive to me and I love designing pieces for myself and for my family. Everyday, I am deeply grateful for the chance to wear these pieces. They add so much to my spirit and give me so much joy. For this, I am most grateful. To be able to live with passion is not a given.

I feel the need to amend my above post...with some jewelry types, I have collected more than one piece. Examples are jade bangles, Zuni cuffs and star sapphires. This is because in those, each really is so unique that they are really very different from each other. Also because I have 3 daughters and I'm some cases, wish to have 3 of a similar jewelry piece, one for each daughter.

I am certainly not done.
There is always another gemstone or jewelry style that I need to add to my collection. All it takes for me is a little inspiration. Sometimes I will see someone wearing a jewel and it sets me off, and I am on a mission to get one of my own.
For example, I once saw JK Rowling in an interview wearing a superb Wedgwood cameo necklace. I had to have one, and now own a small collection of Wedgwood jewelry.
Just recently, I saw an actress being interviewed and she was wearing a fabulous ring containing a large sugarloaf green stone, maybe emerald or chrysoprase. Looked like Bulgari, but that's out of my reach, LOL!
I think I can find a sugarloaf chrysoprase online that fits my budget. The hunt is on!

I tell myself it will happen (and at times think I am close) but nahhh it won't happen.

I'm a compulsive collector of "things". I'm always collecting something...some phases last longer than others....some more expensive than others and while I may move onto other things (shoes, music, bags), it's always a matter of time when I am back to collecting some type of jewelry....silver jewelry, vintage czech glass pieces, beaded jewelry, pearls...just some of the phases I've gone through (some multiple times). The past few years, I've been into colored stones and thanks to PS, there are too many options so it's lasted longer (and been the most expensive.).

Oddly enough, the two things I've never actively collected were diamonds or designer pieces (although I have a few basic diamond pieces purchased over the years)...but that's only because I intentionally try to stay away from those forums here. I know my limits

It wasn't Goldie Hawn's giant green emerald (?) ring, was it? I love that one!

I am two pieces away from finishing my collection. I need one bracelet (to be made with diamonds from unworn rings) and one more eternity band. I am selling off or re-purposing pieces I do not wear. I have too many spinel rings that I do not wear but won't let go of because the spinels are not affordable to replace. I got carried away.

If I had to do it all over again I would have bought what I really wanted from the start- which was a 2 carat diamond for my wedding ring. Instead I have three ( 1.09 carat, a 1.24 carat and a 1.73 carat) E-rings which is ridiculous. Maybe I will feel better about that when I get my 1.24 carat back that is being re-set in a sapphire halo by DK. Or maybe I will feel that I just wasted money if I don't wear it when I do get it back. Either way- I have learned that more is not better.

No, it was a re-broadcast of the French actress Jeanne Moreau, being interviewed by Charlie Rose in 1993.

Jewelry is such an emotional thing for me. I have a list of pieces I want. I recently got my forever (I hope) setting. My reset is so blingy to me that I don't feel the need to get one of the pieces I had my heart set on. However, that may change again before the year end. So, who knows...

However, regarding basics, I think I have everything I want. So now it's playing with finding the right bands, if I want any. The rest is just fun.

I am certainly not done!!:D

I still want to get a honker of a diamond for my ering - upgrade my existing 5.3ct to a 6ct+ ACA and eventually a 7ct+ ACA. I'd love a large EC too but this is more of a pipe dream. Also want a very high-end watch; thought I wanted a Franck Muller but actually would love a Richard Mille (yeah, back to that, lol) or a VCA Lady Arpels Feerie watch. Still so many VCA and Cartier pieces I'd lusting after (tried on a JUC wg with diamonds at the nail head + tip and fell in love with it; it pairs beautifully with my Cartier pave bracelet with ceramic). Somewhere along the line, I'd also like to upgrade my BGD studs and set my 44pts diamonds into a tennis bracelet.

The list goes on and on....:lol:

I hope you never stop Phoenix!!! It is too much fun living vicariously through you lol! I personally can't wait to see a 7+ ACA
