Thank you for the opportunity to post on this forum! I will get rid of the pendant and use the diamonds to create a setting for my Ceylon Sapphire. Nonetheless, I was told at the time of purchase that the blue stone is topaz. Is it possible for you to identify the blue stone? Is it a blue tourmaline, perhaps? Thanks! p10431.jpg

I am not an expert, even if I were an expert, I still would not be able to identify a stone based on photos alone!

My hunch is that, the blue stone is a London Blue Topaz, as it does not resemble the Indicolite (blue) tourmalines that I have seen.

It seems like the best thing to do is post some picture of blue/indicolite tourmalines vs blue topaz. Then since you have the stone in hand you can decide what is the closest match.

This is what comes to my mind for blue tourmaline

This is almost definitely treated topaz. It's classic color for topaz. The setting also leads one to believe it's topaz, as does the fact that it was sold as topaz.
