I'm new to PS and was hoping someone would be able to help me out.

I came across these studs on the Blue Nile website http://www.bluenile.com/au/diamond-earrings_36503 and was very interested. Was very happy with the colour specs and the very good cut, etc. and of course, platinum. Perfect everyday size for me at the moment as well.

Only problem was, when I enquired further, they do not come with *any* documentation at all, which I find odd (yes, they're tiny and relatively inexpensive, etc).

How will I know the exact size of the earrings (minimum weight stated is 0.23) and the exact specifications? Am I better off seeing a local manufacturing jeweller?

I love these and on paper, they're what I want - I'm just unsure about buying without any paperwork.

Thanks in advance :)

These are easily made by a jeweler that does custom cad cam.

Check out Whiteflash and ask them if their preset earrings have excellent cut diamonds not their ACAs but something better then just very good.. I know the color and clarity is lower but for earrings this small I don't think you would be able tell they were. I am waiting for the fed ex truck today. For my second hole, I ordered a pair of .25ctw h/si hand made baby bezels from Brian Gavin. I did upgrade to BGD signature cut and went with 18k to offset the increase in price. Do you have a gold allergy is that why you want plat? I have plat for my rings but after talking to Lesley decided to go with 18k. You could call BGD and see what their price would be, they were $50 less then WF when I ordered mine.

It's funny how each and every new user gets steered to Whiteflash, GOG or Brian Gavin... If not, they tell you should buy from a seller that offers ASET or IS report... Which would be GOG, WhiteFlash or Brian Gavin!

Since small diamonds don't come with ASET or IS reports, I'm not sure why you are being told to buy from whiteflash!

It makes me wonder if anyone is getting anything out of this!

No one is getting anything. I have found that people recommend vendors that they have had interaction with. I have 2 active threads one about my baby bezel earrings that I received today and one regarding a tennis bracelet that I will be ordering at the end of the week. All reviews aren't glowing for the venders you named. I have had issues with 2 of them. When I am doing research for a project, I become obsessed and it is easier to narrow my search to a handful of vendors.

NKC....I buy or recommend small stones from WhiteFlash or Good Old Gold because I trust the quality of their stones and jewelry from personal experience. I have bought 3 sets of diamond studs from WhiteFlash, my daughter's engagement ring came from them, and my brother-in-law bought his wife's e-ring from them. I also have their huggie hoops with 15 point stones. All are beautiful diamonds in top cut quality. I have bought two round ideal cut stones from Good Old Gold and have sent for various other stones to look at...one other ideal cut round, 3 August Vintage rounds, and 2 August Vintage cushions. So I have seen the outstanding quality of 15 diamonds just from those two vendors. I have had a recut done by Brian Gavin which was wonderful, and I also think James Allen offers some ideal cut stones with photos worth considering.

For the record, I did tell her she should go ahead and order the BN ones to look at, and she could also consider the similar studs from WF.

When I came here, I came to get recommendations from those who had experience buying from different vendors. Now I do the same by recommending stones that I am confident in from vendors who have earned my business. Most people asking for input do want some advice. This poster asked a very good question about buying uncertified stones, and I would absolutely NOT buy uncertified diamonds from just any store.
