hello, everyone!

I am working on one of many projects and for this one I needed a diamond in the 30 point range.

I decided to try High Performance Diamonds and a Crafted by Infinity diamond. What the heck, right?

I bought a .34 K eye clean SI 1. The price was very reasonable.

What is really super cool is that the kit comes with a diamond grabber, a loupe, an ASET viewer (which I have been meaning to buy), a H&A viewer, cleaner and a temporary setting ring.

First off, I can't believe this is a K.

The sun was going down, so here are some preliminary photos. More tomorrow :appl:

Tomorrow I will play with sun, light box, spot light etc.

I shined a LED flashlight on it and it bounced light so strong that it went to my eye and I saw a .34 spot for a few seconds :bigsmile: That has never happened before!

She is gorgeous.
 
That's the reason why we pay a premium for top ideal cut H&A stones. Size means nothing if it doesn't perform!...;)2

I get it now. It outperforms my HCA 1.1 Blue Nile .42 stud that I thought was the sparkliest thing I have seen. I mean, the BN can hang with it, but the CBI is the clear winner.

I was gonna order one but then my friend said I can have his since he doesn't know how use it when he bought a CBI...:dance:

I can't get over how face up white the K is. I would NEVER have guessed K.

I wanted to take better photos outside, but apparently the mosquito eggs from Harvey have hatched. (And I live in a swamp/bayou area)... so these will have to do for now.

I know I have said this before, but I'll say it again: I can't believe this is a K

Gorgeous whitewave! Can't wait to see your project. I just bought j/k studs and they look totally white to me. I am thankful I am not color sensitive! Plus I think we get it in our head that anything below h is yellow and it's just not true!

That Q is awesome - and it almost looks fancy yellow from the side!

Glad you're happy with your new purchase, @whitewave, and thank you for the feedback on how you have seen a visible difference from the CBI cut! :)

I've never been more confused about a project before!!! I think I'm either getting bigger or more lol. Gonna talk it out with Melissa today.

Yes, as I mentioned, I did a great job picking out two high performing blue nile diamonds for my studs... but 1) it was a LOT of work. BN tends to have one high performer and one dog together as a pair (and their prongs are hiddy) and

2) the HPD/CBI is like facets on steroids and was MUCH easier. You just go to the website and pick one.

There was a clearly perceptible difference to me to compare a super ideal to an ideal. You can see which is the super ideal.
