bezel setting?

Would a fancy cut gem (e.g. Portuguese Cut) look ok in a bezel setting or would it not allow the fancy cut to be seen/appreciated?

Depends on the shape beyond the cut and the color of the stone. Round? Asscher? Deep purple, pale pink?

I have a fancy cut in a bezel. It''s set in a round bezel and I like the way it looks.

I heard that a portugese cut is deeper than most other styles of cutting (barring asschers). A portugese cut is done for additional brilliance so I think it''ll be a shame to hide all that sparkle in a bezel setting unless it is a partial bezel.
