Best Way To Sell This Piece?

Most items sold on Loupetroop and Diamondbistro are sold "final sale" and "no returns" ...

I looked at your LT listing and suggest you edit it ASAP to include the final sale/no refund language at the bottom of your listing.

Also, I noticed your listing states "Credit Card (visa) payment preferred" - are you in the jewelry trade or have another means of processing a credit card payment? (I am just curious - and perhaps out of the loop - do private individuals/consumers have a way of collecting payments via credit card?)

Thank you! I have just added a final sale into the description. Also, I am not in a trade. The only reason I added credit card preferred was because Diamondbistro seems to show the price and below are all the credit cards shown... I changed that as well.

I have received an offer from PS member saying that they would pay half now and half later (of course, I would ship after the full payment is received.) Is that common/safe to do it this way?

For this reason, I do not want to deal with eBay. I also do not wish to do a return policy and prefer the item being a final sale. I understand that, for the most part, people will not like it (chances of me selling the item are rather low in this case.) But I do worry that if I allow a return, they might swap the bracelet for a lower graded one...etc. It has been done before.

I just feel like I will have to lower the price significantly for people to feel like they could buy it being it a final sale. In that case, I'd rather keep the bracelet.

I totally get it. I had many conversations with the buyer through eBay. She mentioned the no return policy and I offered her a three day return window. I honestly felt comfortable enough with her to do this and she felt she was 99% sure she wanted them. I hate to buy anything as a final sale so I offered her the three day return. After the first day or receiving them, she loved them and told me she would not be returning them. Worked out well but I do understand the trepidation in the whole thing. I do think eBay offers some protections for the seller in these transactions but it could still potentially be a long, drug out process. I was appalled that my money was held for 30 days and I am sure it is there in the fine print somewhere. Thankfully I didn’t need the money but I see folks listing who are selling something and need the money. You would be out of luck for 30 days. I just feel that these stipulations should be front and center for anyone who wants to list with eBay. Otherwise, the protections are all for eBay and that is just not a fair playing field IMO.

I suppose as long as you hold the item until the final payment is received and cleared. Also depends on how much time is allowed between payments as I am guessing you want to get on with the new purchase. I would just check the member’s longevity here to make sure it isn’t someone who just signed up for the sole purpose of buying.

You got lucky there! I used to sell highly designer bags and such on eBay. Now, having much more options to sell, I prefer selling elsewhere on sites that offer authentication services. I am done with eBay when it comes to high priced items, mainly due to their "fine prints." But selling jewelry is a complete different world for me. I feel like I could get tricked, thus I reached out to PS to gain some advice.

It looks like a PS member purchased the bracelet. SO quickly! (with half the payment now and half later.) They will love it!

Congratulations on a super fast sale! It's a beautiful piece!

That is wonderful - congrats!! I am sure she will love it too.

I see. There is no right or wrong way about this. Since this is a brand new piece and it is never worn, sell it at your cost. It's too beautiful to go any lower than that.

I forgot who it was but something like this happened to another pser. So she ordered a custom ring from a very reputable designer and using a very gorgeous diamond. As soon as she received it, she knows that it's not her style so she quickly turn around and post it here for sale. It sold very quickly.

Well, I must say that you were right! The bracelet sold! THAT quickly! I did lose a bit of money on taxes and paypal and blaah... but it actually worked. They will love it. It is a beauty.

I will absolutely do the reveal! My husband has already asked me if there is a limit on how many bracelets I am going to buy before I get the one I want. Very funny.

What an understanding husband you have! Glad you sold it so quickly. Beautiful bracelet!!!

I really do... and a patient one, too. But don't tell him that or I will never hear the end of it. Aaaaand.... he does not exactly know how much more is the bigger one, so that's that. :twisted2:

Just a tiny bit bigger - wink, wink!

I’m so happy for you :appl::appl::appl::appl: the bracelet truly is amazing!!!! Those diamonds can’t be beat.

Will you please post gazillion pictures when you get your bigger bracelet?:love::love::love:

I sure will! Thank you for all your suggestions! :wavey:

oh god, i don't have a suggestion on how to sell it but if i were you i would be so pissed right now because i can not return this and i was not informed upfront?!?! may i know which vendor it is just so we all can avoid in future.

also, good luck on selling it!

I have seen numerous sellers of 'home made' products, jams/jellies/etc use something that attaches to their cell phone "Square" maybe but have no idea if one could do that 'long distance'!

I highly recommend you purchase a few different sizes of CZ tennis bracelets to try before you purchase another diamond one. I bought 4 cz bracelets of different sizes from Ross Simons several months ago, knowing I would test them all and return 3 of the 4. The one that was closest to the right size I'd keep and wear for several months to make doubly sure it continued to seem right. (You could even return all of them after trying them on to save money.) Because wrist size/bracelet length varies, go by the mm size of the individual diamonds and NOT the total carat size of the bracelet to base your future purchase on.

Everyone is different, but for me, of all the bracelets I tried on, I like the 4 mm (.25 ct each; approx 10 ctw on a 7" bracelet) diamonds best and at this size the bracelet still looked like an accent, not the main attraction, next to my 2.5 ct solitaire ring (I believe your solitaire is close in size?). I know, that makes the bracelet expensive and beyond my grasp for the foreseeable future. But at least I know what I would and wouldn't be happy with and it helps me not be disappointed with an expensive purchase. I highly suggest you try on bracelets to to get a good feel of what would really meet your expectations and what would fall short.

Also, if you are open to a bangle, they usually require 1/2 or fewer the total number of diamonds as a tennis bracelet so you can get much larger diamonds for your budget.

Here is the Ross Simons page of tennis bracelets. They have a 5 ctw one. Its worth it to buy, try and return before spending your hard earned money on another non-returnable real one. Honestly, the 5 ctw one I tried on seem really small.

What I will probably do (for me) is to purchase a bangle from WF with .3 ct each (approx 4.3 mm diamonds) and wear it until I can afford a whole tennis bracelet. (At which time they've agreed to pluck out the diamonds and reuse them in my tennis bracelet.) I've already priced it all out with one of their salespeople and for a 6" wrist size bangle I need 16 .3ct diamonds. At the .3 ct size, the individual diamonds quality for their upgrade program which alleviates the worry that I'd be stuck with them if DSS sets in and I want a larger size in the future.

Thank you so much for your informative response! I do remember your post where you were asking about the size of bracelets...etc, I just forgot all about the good ideas I have collected over here when doing the purchase. I am being very careful this time around.

I checked out the website that you suggested and might order their 5ctw one. However, I noticed that the spacing between their stones is wider than it would be on my bracelet - that would make the stones bigger resulting in a thicker bracelet. HPD diamonds are stacked up tightly together, resulting in a thinner bracelet but more melee.) Thus, Ross-Simons 5ctw bracelet might not be accurate representation of the size of the one from HPD. I will also need 6" this time around with the outcome of having even less stones. Best thing is to set up a budget and go by that... but that one tends to stretch, too.

Great idea about re-using your WF stones, truly! It would be such a pity to waste their beautiful melee.
