Hello ! I have a quick question ! I was trying to find googling around ,but still didn’t find the right information ! My question is ,what’s the mm difference between the settings to consider it low- med - hight ?? Does 6.5 mm hight setting consider low set ? Or mid ? Is that a comfortable hight for a ring for everyday busy -moms life ?? Thank you !!!!

Your answer probably depends on the size of your ring finger and your personal preferences.

Best course would probably be to try a variety of rings with various heights and see what you like best!

Hahahah thank you ! It’s my first project so I don’t know exactly how tall these 6.5 mm will look like

Might not be a popular viewpoint here.. but if you are working with a reputable jeweler, which if I have identified the CAD right you are... sometimes I think unless it is a critical design element, the proportions can be left up to the jeweler as long as you express your concern that you are a busy mom and don't want it too high.. with their experience I think they have a good sense of how to make it look balanced.

I think this looks lovely as is and would throw my two cents that lowering the head might make the pretty shank look too squat from this view.

Personally, I like my rings to be as low as possible as I will otherwise beat up my stones and settings. For my 5-stone that is graduated like your CAD, I had the center stone lowered to the point where the culet touches the shank above my finger.

Also, your CAD shows the stones set so the girdles are touching. So, your ring will look more like "wall of bling" from the top. Its personal taste. I like when the sidestones are stair-stepped (so lower than the center, like the Vivant below), but also tilted more like the CVB Inspired Design.

You can also vary the prongs to create more interest from the side using a trellis or x-prong where the prongs cross at the base

WF 3-stone.

Or even have the prongs tulip style. I like this style for smaller stones as it looks tippy with very large stones.

And you can use those prongs to bring some pave if you like the look.

Thank you for your very detailed response ! We are trying to create the same kind of 4 clover setting as I have my earrings here is the full CAD! Tell me what you think and what kind of adjustment you will do!D948171C-C3B6-44FA-A402-A74B61AE1B45.jpeg

If it was me...and this is very much my taste.

1) I'd lower the center just a bit more.

2) I see my ring from the side all the time. Rarer from the top. So, the side-view is important to me. To me, I'd like more flow and organic design on the sides. Something to bring the curves of the cloer to the sides. If you prefer a clean aesthetic, I'd lean to more tulip-style prongs.

Maybe something more like the leaves on this setting. I would not add the milgrain to the leaves on the side, but can you see the pretty 2-leaves on the side stones? Maybe that would be a nice element to add.

Here is a leafy gallery on a very low-set stone. https://www.instagram.com/p/BahDLIoFqH-/?hl=en&taken-by=davidklassjewelry

This ring has more of a fleur de lis. https://www.instagram.com/p/BafOOyWlMUz/?hl=en&taken-by=davidklassjewelry

Thank you rocky salamander!! I think it’s a great idea and point ! It does seem like something off ,how the prongs meet the shank ! More flowery side view will be nice ! Do you think the stone shows be lowered to 6-6.2 hight ?
