Best combo RB center stone for $20k?

Hello...first off wanted to say that this board is great and I''m so happy to have found it! Starting to look for an e-ring and set my centerstone budget around $20k (can go up another $5k if that makes a huge huge difference + whatever the setting with sidestones will cost). I know she has said that Angie Harmon''s ring is beautiful which was probably a hint.

I believe her ring is a rb centerstone with pear sidestones? What combo would you recommend (proportion btwn center and pears?)

Oh, you have chosen a great combination...and it happens to have a very easy answer!

Leon Mege designs gorgeous settings for rounds with pear sides. All you do is buy your round center stone, send it to him, and he will source the pears for your approval and make the setting. There are a few people here who have had the ring made with different size stones. I love it most with at least a 2 ct. center stone (or larger), which you should be able to do with your budget.

Would you go with an ''I'' colored stone or move up to an F or G? I know that they''re all ''near colorless'' but can anyone put that into say a real life situation and how it would look? I know SI1 is a great deal but I''ve got the untrained eye so I don''t want to miss anything only to have it come up later.

This all really boils down to personal preference. Given the size of the diamond you are looking for, my preference would be to stay within the D - G range. This being said, many PS''ers have J and K stones, which make them very happy. If you have seen well cut diamonds in real life and do not find yourself to be particularly color sensitive, then I may be fine for you. If you have the chance, prior to making this purchase, I would suggest checking out some diamonds and confirming your color tolerance.

SI1 is a great deal IF you can find an eyeclean stone. These are sometimes hard to come by but certainly worth the wait. If you are concerned about visible inclusions, you may wish to stay in the VS1 or VS2 range to lessen the likelihood that inclusions will be visible.

Be sure to remember that it''s HER ring. He may not be color sensitive. Let''s hope that he finds out if she is first.

Not that I consider I colored by any means, and there are many PSers that have J and K rings that do not have more than a suggestion of warmth to them even in larger sizes. Just make sure that you know which way your girl goes.

Color is totally personal preference. The lowest I have is H color, and they are just beautiful stones that do not show color as far as I am concerned. I, personally, would choose no lower than H. I think the stones closer to $25,000 that I posted earlier were H. You will have to increase your budget to go higher in color, probably, or else go below 2 carats. There''s nothing wrong with that, except I think the pear sides look better with the larger center stone.
