Hello,
This is my first post. This site was recommended to me by a friend and I have never found a website better than this. My boyfriend and I have been looking for a ring for ever. we''re in no rush if i means finding something we feel is a ''good deal''. A jeweler has shown us a ring, E color, .74 carat, VVS2 clarity... the appraisal was for 6,500 grand but said he will sell it for 3,000. is that normal? he said it''s a deal...any comments? or does this sound fishy?
thanks !

Look under the tab PRICES and then under Search by Price. You''ll find the going prices for diamonds listed by PS vendors. You will get what you pay for and anyone offering you half-price sounds fishy.

If you post your budget and what you are looking for (shape, color, etc) you will likely get some suggestions. But Show Me the Ring Forum is for posting photos of your rings. So you might not get many responses here. And your title is misleading. Post in Rocky Talk and name your post something reflecting the information you want to know.

I am betting at that price that this stone does not have a GIA or AGS grading certificate. $3000 is too low for a well cut E VVS2 at .74 cts. So understand that you usually get what you pay for, and this stone more than likely is not E VVS2 if it doesn''t have a reliable lab certificate.

Use this tool to search for ideal cut stones:

Put in excellent-excellent for cut and check GIA and AGS for labs.
