Hi all,

I recently saw this setting on PS while scrolling through FrekeChild's thread, searching for the perfect setting for her spinel Big Blue.

I think it is absolutely beautiful but as other posters commented, the setting is a MC2 setting and very pricy.

What is the possibility of this setting being able to be replicated? And who would be a good jeweller to do so? Also, based on posters' previous custom work, what is an est. cost of such a design; 5-10k, for e.g.?

Thanks all. :)

sorry, I can't answer your question, but that's a BEAUTY!!!

no info either - but absolutely gorgeous!!!

Yes, it truly is a beautiful setting. It's floral without being overtly so, which I find lovely.

It seems no one has any info with regards to this piece. :(

Yes, it is MC2 - and yes, it will be pricey! And yes, they do not work with customers' stones.

I strongly and staunchly oppose asking vendors to copy other vendors' works - especially "immediately recognisable" designs like this - for both ethical and practical reasons. The original craftsman is the one who will best do the look and feel of a unique design justice, IMO.

If you are interested in that design why not call in and see what they say? At the very least you will have some definitive idea of pricing! If that doesn't work for you there are a number of other vendors have a similar "organic" style - James Meyer, Caleb Meyer, Ann McKay... I don't know their policies on commissioning custom work or accepting outside stones, but perhaps you will find more fodder for inspiration ::)
