Hi,
Happy New Year!
My lovely husband gifted me a beautiful ER for our 10 anniversary almost 2 years ago. I love the ring but often wonder if I went the right direction as far as the setting, see post:

Every time i think I'm going to make a move and change the setting to a delicate halo or a 5 stone with traps/bullets I get cold feet. Lately I have been wearing my ER with different bands and it has def. improved my feelings about the ER. My real wedding band is a little over 3mm, floral-like, white gold band with a sprinkle of diamonds, see images in this post:

The white gold against the platinum is terrible and I feel that the band is too thick for my ER. They are simply not complimentary. So instead of obsessing over my ER I have decided to purchase a new band. I would love to have an eternity band as I love the sparkle factor and think it might lively up my ER ( baguettes are not lively). At first I thought I wanted 7 pointers but after trying on some 2.8-3.3mm wide eternitys I realized they just ended up making my ER look sad and dull. Total overshadowing.

I stopped by at Tiffanys this past weekend and tried on a eternity that was 2mm and it actually looked pretty well balanced. I don't want to buy from Tiffanys and I didn't love the style as it was pave as I would ideally like to have a shared prong. However I like how low it was and of course I loved the sparkle.

I have been in correspondence with Lana at IDJ and she has been fairly helpful and patient with all my questions.
She quoted me close to $1900 for a 2mm almost 1 carat / platinum(though recommending white gold) shared prong, pricescope quality (did not mention the height) eternity ring. I'm not sure why almost 1 carat would be only 2mm.

I have also been looking at The Facet Collection :
Platinum Shared-Prong Eternity Band, 28 Round Brilliant Diamonds, 1.10ct. tw. price - $2,397.00
http://www.thefacetscollection.com/Platinum-Shared-Prong-Eternity-Band-28-Round-p/f2635.htm
2.3mm and 2mm high off the finger

as well as this one from TFC:
Platinum Shared-Prong Eternity Band, 32 Round Brilliant Diamonds, 0.80ct. tw. price $1971.00
http://www.thefacetscollection.com/Platinum-Shared-Prong-Eternity-Band-32-Round-p/f2141s.htm
2.1 wide and 2.0mm high off the finger.

here are my questions:
Do you think 2.0 mm off the finger is high or low slug?
why do you think that the IDJ is only 2mm and is close to a carat?
I'm liking the way 1.8mm off the finger sounds but do you think I will find 2.3mm notably wider than a 2mm?
I really want a minimal metal look , which do you think might best meet that criteria?

I know everyone loves IDJ, so I feel pretty confident buying from them however I'm sort of confused by the specs. Also this would be custom so no returns.
Does anyone own any of these eternity rings from TFC? how are they?

that was long winded, yikes. Any help is big help!

Can't comment on the eternities as I don't own one but would you need a spacer between your ER and the eternity so they don't eat each other or the prongs? I love your ER btw - it's beautiful.
I think a band which "matches" in terms of height or width will make your ER sing in a way that your current band doesn't although it is a really pretty ring in its own right. 2mm off the finger seems quite nice and low but the shape will also determine if it is actually comfortable. My wedding band is fractionally taller than my ER and I do notice it especially as it's a carved design so I feel the texture. I like that though. I tried another bead set band which I couldn't feel and although it matched my ER better, I liked being able to feel the band more.
Maybe try on some similar eternities if you can to see how you like how they feel on your hand?

Re: eternity band help for ER

Thanks foxinsox, I appreciate your feedback.
I've tried on some bands but feel very confused because I can't seem to find a shared prong one to try on. The different style of diamond setting seem to affect the sparkle factor.

My band of my ER is about 2.2 mm and I'm feeling nervous about getting something too thin.
The cost saving are huge buying it over the internet but I feel nervous it won't work out.

I have a round with tapered baguettes and it has been awfully hard to find a band that compliments it. I decided to go with a shared prong 7 stone from White Flash because I personally didn't like the feeling of the stones between my fingers. And I did find that the height of the wedding band did totally matter. The lower it sat on my finger, the weirder it looked to me. So the WF 7 stone does sit sort of high off the finger, but it works for me.

I am not sure if any of that helps! good luck!

Re: band help for ER- update!NEW BAND(pics)

HI,
I have my new band!!!
I ended up getting a 2.3 mm 1.02 carat/platinum full eternity band from the following designer:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/JewelryULovebyAby?ref=profile_shopname

Aby was a dream to work with. She was patient, informative, sensitive to what I wanted and very accommodating.
The ring is amazing; sparky, perfectly crafted and looks great with my ER. I love how the ring doesn't overpower my ER but it also works great as a stand alone. The price was amazing and I hope and will order from her again in the future.

I originally had been working with ID jewelry to make this ring, but it was a nightmare and had to pull the plug. Every time I asked a question they would not answer it fully/properly which was very nerve racking when you are ordering through email/phone. They were inconsistent with pricing and I just got a general overall shady vibe. The interaction was very confusing and really pleasant.

They look great together! I used to have my pear in a 3 stone with baguettes (similar to yours) and had a difficult time
trying to find a wedding band to go with it due to the height of my pear/baguettes. I'm glad you found one that worked
with your ER.

The ID Jewelry thing...I've sort of had that problem before and I think its because everything sort of has to go through Yuketiel so
they say one thing then double check with Yuketiel and it may change. Kind of frustrating. Not really sure if thats what the problem
is but thats what it feels like.

OOH that's lovely! what a great band. Please post many more handshots if you feel so inclined. It looks really great with your ering.
