can''t imagine why anyonw would have anything against baguettes. 80s? My e-ring is from the 1920s and has them on the sides. Monroe''s ring from was all baguettes.

I''m partial to the baguettes. I know they''re not as sparkly as rounds, but there are WELL cut baguettes out there. My revamped ring is proof. My old baguettes were your average ones. But I like the look of tap. baguettes with any center stone.

I love tapered baguettes! One of my rings is an emerald in a ballerina setting, and I always get compliments on it.

uhh what''s a ballerina setting?

Hi! In a ballerina setting, the center stone is surrounded by tapered baguettes set at different heights so that it resembles a ballet dancer''s tutu.

maybe it is just a matter of your own personal experience. I was in my 20''s during the 80''s- prime marrying age.

PLenty of girls were getting the RB with baguettes on the sides.

So, to me it was not something I wanted when I got engaged in 2003.

Imaginr you are 25 right now and fast forward 20 years.
Then you will be 45 and you meet the man of your dreams after some years of brave adventurous singledom.

Will you want a halo? Or an x-prong? I think not.

Yet, a halo is a classic (just go look at antique rings).

Certain things are more popular than others at any given point in time.

I would not reject a RB with baguettes on the sides, but it''s not my first choice.

I must have been livin a different 1980''s. NONE of my friends had a baguette setting that was new. If they had a baguette setting, then it was a family ring - usually w/ a big *ss diamond. Marquise stones were the flavor du jour as were the beginnings of three stone rings - all round.

LadyKemma, I believe on MM''s site, there''s a picture of a yellow gold ballerina set with baguettes. There''s a before and after pic too!
