Concerning the rules. Good for you for being cautious.

People who are paid advertisers - and possibly some other professionals who help others on the site (and abide by other rules) are allowed to list thier websites and contact information.

Individuals are not.

If you are in the industy you can identify essentially who you are (what position - avoid full names unless OK'd by forum administrator), your background, and who you work for. You can offer advise and opinions to people on a variety of subjects - as long as the advice is general and you do not promote your business (i.e. Its OK to tell them that an appraiser normally does....; its not OK to tell people to send things to you to appraise and you will do ...)

If you know the other principal involved in this situation - feel free to ask them to come on this forum and reply to the situation as long as they maintain normal client confidentiality (we have had owners post that they would need permission from the person who posted the complaint to discuss the particulars - usually the permission is granted, but sometimes not). Most pricescope users would love to here the other side (or know that the other side at least knows about it). Better yet, if there was a misunderstanding (or just a bad day, etc) and things could be rectified.

The full rules and policies you are looking for are at:

Anthony, your question is answered in #28 of the forum rules.

I think that maxspinel has been flogged far too much on this purchase and return. Virtually the same message has been stated again and again. Enough already....

Max has presented her cautionary tale to advise the rest of us not to do what she did.

I too have a fair idea who the vendor might be, but the administrators know and can follow through from there if they wish.

I''m sure we have all misjudged a purchase ( maybe not to the tune of 50k), but everyone acts as if Max would be the only one here who would be so gullible...I wonder

I agree. Live and learn.

Been there, done that, on a much smaller scale, but the lesson was still the same.

Isabel, I was thinking from the very beginning of this thread that it could be a vendor you recently dealt with. Thankfully, that is not a PS vendor!

What would you have the administrator do if they "follow through"? I''m not sure I see how that would be appropriate given what I''ve seen so far.

I don''t think so, PS said:

"A few regular members of this forum did posted links to some pages/pictures of this vendor pointing to some products. Although it was more like illustrations during conversations rather than recommendations to do business with this vendor especially no-one said that they know that vendor or bought anything from them."

the vendor she worked with used to be recommended here often.

Okay, thanks Mrss!

Isabel and Ellen,

Thanks

What I don''t understand is why all the secrecy about the vendor?

Why doesn''t maxspinel just tell us who this was.... so we all know.

The forum administrators are appropriately tied with thier own personal rules about not posting information that was given confidentially to them.

So we have this "Nameless" vendor, and several other people specullate that they know who it is.

Hundreds of people post here the names of vendors thay have dealt with - with both good and poor service.

I can''t think of a single good reason for maxspinel to not have posted the vendors name. His/her argument that they are trying to "protect" the vendors reputation sounds really hollow to me.

Without the vendor''s name - most of this thread has been wasted as people pontificate about the possibilities and the what if''s.

maxspinel: The ball is in your court.

Isabel and Ellen,

Thanks
You''re welcome.

I just hope you won''t put all online vendors in the same basket. WhiteFlash and GoodOldGold are two VERY reputable vendors, and I have purchased from both. I would not hesitate to recommend either one. Maybe you could give them a try someday?

Good luck in the future.
