When I was quite a bit younger, I made a purchase at a local B&M for roughly $800. Like most retailers they have a trade-up policy. I''ve been debating whether or not I should just write off the $800 as a pretty cheap lesson in life. The B&M''s policy states that I have to spend double the original price. I still need to puchase my GF''s wedding ring (I purchased her E-ring from WF), is it even worth going that route? In other words, should I spend $800 additional at the B&M or should I just spend my money at a reputable online vendor? I''m leaning towards the second alternative but figured I''d ask the forum.

Are you looking for a diamond band or plain band? I say, if you can get a diamond band to match the ering (WHich we NEED to see pictures of

)
then, I say go ahead and get the band there.

What is the item that you bought for 800? Is it something you can pawn or sell on Ebay or Craigslist to recoup some dough??

That''s a pretty cheesy "upgrade" policy with more benefit to the store than to you. I''d spend my money elsewhere. There are so many nice choices online and possible for less than $800.

The item was a ring with a miniscule diamond. It wouldn''t be worth much on either ebay or craigslist. FYI, the B & M is Zales. I''m actually kind of embarassed but it was almost 20 years ago and I was in the Army making $700 a month. Things definately change.

My GF''s e-ring is a 3-stone W-prong in a plat. setting from WF. As soon as I get pictures taken, I''ll upload them. I really like the eternity diamond bands but don''t know if it will fit along side the e-ring. I''m going have my GF help pick one out once she "accepts" the e-ring.

why, just yesterday i spent money at zales. i traded in my zales signature diamond for a gaudy cluster ring (endless). bright, very white, clear, well cut melee.

if you buy a "zales SIGNATURE diamond", it will meet pricescope standards.

don't confuse with "the zales diamond"

do your homework first so you know the dimensions should be.

edited to add: oh you bought the ring already. they have nice diamond wedding bands there.
