YIPPEE.....look at this BEAUTY I''m getting from Gary....it is more of his Nigerian pink tourmaline.
30.gif

Here is his description:

It turned out especially nice and the color is
awesome (especially outdoors) - a hot rich pink. It''s also a great
ring size. 3.24 carats, 9.1mm. This is done in one of my favorite
square cushion cuts, as this design is easy for jewelers to set in a
4-prong setting. It would also work great in a bezel setting.

It''s very nearly flawless (VVS) - just a very very small inclusion
near the girdle on one edge. I need magnification to see it. Other
than that it is totally clean.

I''m thinking about going with James Meyer for a bezel setting....what do you think?

Oh I love it! It''s just a knock out. I don''t know if I''d personally go with a James Meyer because it looks like a pretty modern cushion to me. Maybe a Caleb Meyer or an Ettiene Perret though.

Thank you Gypsy! I''ll check those websites out....do you have photos that you can show me?

Lori

Oh be still my beating heart! That is breath taking!

I think a bezel setting would be perfect.

I am in love with that cut

It is fantastic!

The first ring in this strip has a nice design. Thin out the split shanks a little and put your stone in there, I think it would be gorgeous. Caleb is James Meyer''s son.

Wow...
I''m wiping the drool.

I love the colour, I think it''ll look gorgeous in a JM. You can always email JM for setting ideas and see if you like his suggestions.

Very pretty color...you need to take pictures of your collection and post, post , post....

Beautiful cutting. I hope the color turns out to be as nice as the photo.

oh, that is such a beautiful color, and the stone would look fantastic in the first setting from Gypsy''s post. Its gorgeous.

Absolutely stunning!!!!! Such nice color!

Beautiful color. I love the cut! Congrats!

Yay Lori - more pink for you

However, I''m insanely jealous; that pink is soooo rich. You could set that baby in a twist-tie and it would look fabulous! And please tell me we''re getting more pics!

Whoa Loriken, that photo gives me shivers - so beautiful it glows!

beautiful color and cut, Lori. So this brings the collection total to... ?!?!

It would look lovely in a JM setting.

If it looks just like the picture, it is a beautiful stone. However, I have noticed that Gary's pictures are always MUCH better than the stone in person (or at least the buyer's pictures and description) from the last few gemstones that were purchased by PSers. It seems that that the stone is quite a bit darker unless a strong light source is used during photography.

Photography has been a hobby of mine for over 30 years, but sometime even I get it wrong. I think this stone is way better in real life than my picture!

I wish I could take decent photos and show you what Gary''s gemstones look like IRL....I''m blown away with the beauties that I''ve purchased from him. These pink tourmalines are especially amazing....this one because Mrs. Gary really liked it, too!

Good question icekid.....I''ll round them all up and count....

Which JM setting do you like the best?

Lori

It''s beautiful Lori!
Hehe, I see I''m not the only one with a soft spot for the pink stones!

Well, it''s a good job you can''t see me right now Lori, cos I''m dribbling on the floor. That cushion is just one stunning thing of pure beauty - gorgeous. Yes, another JM would look gorgeous! So much for downsizing your collection, you must be nearly back up to full strength!

Wow, that''s a fantastic cut! Gorgeous colour, too!

Gypsy,

Here is the response I received, today, from Caleb Meyer:

"Thank you so much for your inquiry. We prefer to work with our own
colored stones. We do resets, however only with customer''s diamonds."

What a shame, they could have received a lot of business from PS''ers!

Lori
Aww. I''m so sad! I really wanted one of his settings for a colored stone eventually.
7.gif
Ahh well. Maybe he''ll come around if we ask his dad to talk to him.
31.gif
Just kidding, but I am sad, cause I love his work.

My pretty came today....here''s my crappy photo....

Wow, that is really a shame! His loss

The stone looks pretty, Lori. Any other photos?
11.gif

Well, DH changed out the bathroom lights to those "soft" lights and now the only decent lighting I had is gone. So, this means I can''t capture the beauty, and sparkles, of my pretties AT ALL!
38.gif

I''m going to have to figure out a little light box and get the digi cam out of the box....all of these photos have been from my cell phone....I''m still paranoid about taking photos...I''m a newbie at it and my OCD comes out BIG TIME when I want them to be PERFECT!

Maybe I can send them all to Liz...Freke...and she can capture their beauty for me?
11.gif

Lori

Loriken,
It looks sort of reddish orange in your picture. I hope you''ll be able to get your little light box put together soon.
