Calling all Asscher specialists..Would you give the following your blessing based on specs, reports, etc etc?

Carat Weight: 1.15ct
Color: F
Clarity: VS1
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Girdle: 2.80%
Width: 5.87mm
Length: 5.91mm
Depth: 3.87mm
Table Percentage: 57.41%
Depth Percentage: 65.99%
Crown Depth: 15.29%
Pavilion Depth: 47.59%

Is it not square enough?? or am I seeing things?
Will try to post pictures to make it easy..I''ll also post the link to the page with all of the information if you want to see more.

I can''t view the sarin report- I have a mac and this old computer doesn''t want to install the viewer so if anyone can tell me what it says that would be great!

Thank you pricescoper''s..otherwise I''d be going crazy right now trying to figure it out all by myself...which would be impossible anyway..

Now I''m thinking the table spec is too small?

That baby could be my asscher's near twin in specs. And I have an AWESOME asscher, and my appraiser and every jeweler that's looked at it has told me so. My table is a little larger than yours (59.9), but I PREFER a smaller. That's the only difference between the two stones.
That asscher ROCKS.

table spec is awesome.
Id buy it.
Rates a kicken

Wow, what a beautiful Asscher! Hopefully Storm will chime in soon!

ETA: hehee, he chimed in

The diamond is sitting at an angle in the picture, resting on the culet and the girdle which is why it looks slightly off square if you look at the diaXray it looks square.
its kicken

Can you tell me what the price on it was? (I bought mine years ago and want to see how accurate my appraisal value is).

Yeah it got a kicken!!

THanks everybody..hello possible future twin! I think the bank wire price was $7400...does it compare?

Storm--when and if you get a chance, did the other reports check out? (probably don''t need it now but would love to know!)

Thanks again! Helen

yep they did
I always look at all available info.

Is that too much $ for this asscher?

Wowee wow wow!! I love it!! The specs are perfect and the picture is even better!! I love the smaller table (I''m jealous!) and the windmills and step pattern are fantastic!

Now that''s a gorgeous asscher!!!! How are you going to set it??

Actually if the table was larger it would be a dog.

The outer zones have wonderful patterns and great windmills.
The table is the weak part with not a lot of light return or diffferentiation.

But over all it is a stone in the top range.

Garry...."The table is the weak part with not a lot of light return or diffferentiation." scares me but you said it''s good...
I want to see this thing in person.

ok..regarding a setting..interestingly enough before I found pricescope, I happened upon a halo setting and feel in love..but was having anxiety about the setting, because no one I know has one. I think that''s one of the reason I was drawn to it..Anyway, then I found pricescope and I noticed that setting type discussed often for asscher''s and oh my gosh did I feel better...so here is the setting that I found a while ago...

One thing that I love about the setting is the detail on the corners..it accentuates the shape of the asscher, those perfect cut corners which I have been in love with for 7 years!

Thoughts?

Generally the table of most cuts have better light return. Your stone is the other way around. Seeing it should help.

I like the setting, but I am just a bloke

I think that asscher is very nice. Good pattern, no big dark areas, nice windmills. The price is very reasonable especially for an F. Good choice. Pretty setting too.

I considered that in my eval, center is green borderline red in aset.
DiamXray which uses different head shadow shows full light return center other than a couple minor spots that will be too small too have any impact.
My thoughts are there is enough light return there too make nice patterns and a lively stone.
Overall its one I would buy.

If your worried about it ask Jon to eyeball it and give an opinion on the center brightness under different lighting conditions.

storm every now and then we have one of these silly arguements about an asscher.
The stone has a very low light return in the center.

I have tried to be very ploite about it and not frighten anyone off their own personal preferences.
The table has around half the light return of other nice asschers in both straight up and tilted views up to 25 degrees.
Please use the ASET with back light (one other reason why I do not like ASET without back light).
And look at the dark zone static and rocking.

I forgot to attach the image

tell ya what Garry im going too get Jon too take an actual ASET picture and see who comes closest.
What do you want too put on the outcome?

ASET 30 white.

Is that last image the same stone Storm?
It looks nothing like my DiamCalc image with ASET 30

Aha - I just compared the lighting schemes in the older DC3 and the Beta version I am trialing at present Storm.
The back light is brighter on the lastest (not released yet) version.
Interesting.

But the dark zone data is unchanged

DC3 aset 30 + white

DC3 IS below, comparing it too the actual DiamXray image above the scan we are using here is far from ideal.
Sarin data im betting.

ok and asschers are hyper sensitive too too much backlight in both IS and ASET images.
Iv noticed that in real stones too with asschers that a too strong backlight gives a distorted view comparing it too what my eyes see with no scope.

Hopefully Jon can provide an actual ASET image too put this too rest....

I''d like to see the ASET image, thinking that will put any doubts to rest...

I have visually inspected this diamond myself. I do not back Asscher Cuts with lifetime trade up and buy back policies that exhibit leakage resulting in a dead - glassy stone.

I have seen hundreds of Asscher and as Garry has expressed it is a top stone.

I however do not make that assumption from technologies that do not always correlate to human observation which is why I inspect it myself in more than one lighting environment.

I will be happy to take an actual ASET shot both against black or white but I can tell you from real world experience ... an ASET image does not tell you the whole story. I have seen Asscher''s with great ASET images that I would not stock and while it is nice to know, it is not the determining criteria for what I will spend my capital on when purchasing for stock. Real world observation is what I base it on, based on my experience actually looking at Asschers and being familiar with what the best and worst of these shapes look like.

Illume ... bottom line ... if you are not happy you have a full month to return it and the rest of your life to exchange it should your taste ever change.

Kind regards,
