I was wondering if ASET would work on set stones?
From my understanding, it would only work on loose stones...

Learning from PS gets me intrigued about the diamond studs that i have... Curious is all...

It'd be most accurate on a loose stone, without metal reflecting and interfering with lighting, but depending on stone size and settings you may be able to get a useful representation

I have one and my stone is set and so are all my friend's. We have a great time with it. BUT you need the light box thing OR your flashlight app on your phone and tweezers to hold it with.

That said, it's really only good for stones that aren't round brilliants. If you have a round brilliant, I wouldn't do it.

i have 0.5ct princess diamond studs. so, it sounds as it could be worth getting one for curiosity... and also for potential future purchases!!!!!

or perhaps get the vendor to have them tested in the manner before i get them set. i think i would be too impatient to wait for a setting.. i want those diamonds to wear straight away!!!!

It's your money. If you are a jewelry buff and plan future purchases in person at local stores, it might be a good investment for you.
