HI EVERYONE, I'm new to this forum, what's your view on the following ASET image? The HCA score is 3.6 but the image seems fine to me, would be appreciated if you can share your views. Thanks!IMG_5904.JPG

There is some light leakage under the table. It seems that the stone has a large table, skinny and not very symmetrical arrows. I would explore other options. What is your budget and requirements?

000.jpg Also including the certificate for reference

Budget please?

Also, the general proportion recommendations for round brialliant are below:
Table 54-58
Depth: 60-62
Crown Angle: 34-35
Pavilion Angle: 40.6 - 40.9

Budget of ~$20k, looking for something between 1.5ct to 2ct range, F colour, VS1/2, triple excellent...

Thanks for the quick reply!

Do you guys have any reference ASET images if the diamond is cut too shallow or too deep?

Ok, I would definitely forget about the above stone, it is not well cut. With your budget, I would look for a super-ideal stone.

Here is a really beautiful stone:

And here is a fantastic pre-loved stone (comps are at 22k just for the stone alone)

Another option as well: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3172036.htm

What is the setting that you are planning on getting?

First, I would eliminate this stone based on the numbers alone.
Second, I think the ASET image may not be of the diamond presented you.

I haven't seen an super ideal stone in real life yet... local jewellerer doesn't seem to be able to source them... so I'll still wondering if it's worth the 20-30% premium over a near ideal diamond. Tried looking for videos online but I wasn't able to find any. Based on your experience, would a diamond by BG be far more sparkly than a near ideal one?

I took the image myself actually. Why do you think it doesn't match the certificate?

Haven't thought about the setting yet, I'm planning to do the setting locally.

I'm not sure if this is allowed, but wanted to say that the 1.6 carat, E, VS2 BGD stone will likely be removed from the setting.

If I'm not allowed to say this in this thread, please delete and apologies!!

I just thought the ASET looked too good considering the numbers. I normally see more leakage and green under the table and less defined arrows.

With 33 crown, I probably want 41.1 or 41.2. I have not seen too many good looking 33/41.4.

Here is a good 33/41.1, which happens to be Simonedi's...

This is something I expected from a 33/41.4

Examining again, I could be wrong.

Good to know @JDDN ! The diamond (and the setting) are stunning!

@Kl366 if you will be able to see the difference between a generic GIA XXX and a super ideal, that cannot really be answered by most of us. I own BGD super ideals and have seen non super ideals and I can tell the difference, but many don't develop their preferences for some time. Regardless, you have a very healthy budget and your desired spec are within budget even when we consider super-ideal diamonds, so I am not sure why you could go for an inferior cut. But again, we all have different preferences. We can look for some nice GIA stones too (although that BGD for sale on LT is amazing and much under value).

with GIA rounding this could be more a 32.75/41.3 which could give you this nicer than expected ASET.
