Hi,
I have been looking at quite a few ASET images in the last couple of months. I came across this image where there are 2 distinct green areas next to each other around the edge of the diamond. It can also be seen in the AGSL light performance image of course.
This diamond is being sold as a top quality cut and I want my money to go towards maximum light performance.

Can someone please explain what would cause this effect in an ASET image? Is it a sign that a couple of facets have need been cut at the right angle?

I also notice that there are a couple of indents in the circle in the centre which I haven't seen before.

Thanks.

Hmm I have no idea in my amateur opinion what might cause that but to be honest I doubt it would be very noticeable in person, especially if there is a prong blocking that section- a lot of the time the light return for red and green are super close to each other so it may just be barely into the green section (if you notice with many hearts and arrows aset images, the centers can appear red or green but to the naked eye I doubt the difference with ideal cut stones would be noticeable!) If you are being suuuuper nitpicky over this stone it does appear in the photo that the table percentage may be a bit larger than the most super super ideal cut. I tend to see the hearts with more cut off corners but I might be imagining things... Maybe there is a giant cloud where the green appears? Or some slightly asymmetrical facet? This is utter speculation, I am a total newbie at this!! I am probably sounding like an idiot to the diamond pros on this site but I figured I would give it a try!!

More nitpickiness: The hearts and arrows image could be slightly more symmetrical I think? If you notice one heart has a larger spacing to the correlating little v-shaped thing and the v-shaped things aren't the most symmetrical I've ever seen- that will definitely mess up the aset but have minimal effect on your real-life eyes... I'm pretty sure it will be completely sparkly and a four prong setting could cover part of the green blob! :appl:

What's the clarity grade? It may be a feather near the girdle causing it. In RL that won't take aawy from the stone.

Clarity is VS2. Here is the plot - could be a result of the crystal perhaps??

It looks like the feather is at 9 oclock. Either way, it's still going to be barely noticeable.

The girdle is dug out to save weight/remove inclusions for the stone at that area.

AGSL uses computer generated ASET images and inclusions do not effect those images. In the actual ASET that slight bit of green is a non-issue to the human eye.

Ask for a full Sarin report for more cut details.
