While fussing with my new emerald, I remembered another annoying to photograph stone--this milky/iridescenty pink sapphire I have. The combo reminds me of Ariel (1989 version.) The sapphire is a little smudged with my fingerprints.

What do you all think of making a toi et moi like this? Or should I do something else with the stones? I've had the sapphire for a while now. Also... please help me with this emerald! :) https://www.pricescope.com/communit...emerald-education-please.281612/#post-5306381

Well, why not? The colors are perfect together. I'm a huge fan of toi et moi style rings, they are so versatile and you can tweak the design to entirely fit your taste.
You could have so much fun with this!

I had a purple sapphire and emerald toi et moi made last year. My colors are darker and it reminds me of Mardi Gras. I love your lighter tones and think they'll make a lovely ring.

I like the proportions of the two gems together too!

Yessss exactly! I bought the emerald to play with and make into a three stone, so I'm not entirely sure which way I'll go.

And then last night I saw a different ring that I can use the sapphire for. I have a small heart solitaire on a pave band and thought I can remake it into something like this:

Thank you @Pomelo for posting Jemma Wynne in a thread, I feel very inspired.

I'm open to suggestions. :)

Yesss I love it!!

If I may… the emerald has some windowing vs the sapphire which is milky. Can you try to put some foil behind the emerald and see what that does to the colour of the stone?

You absolutely may, your feedback most welcome here!

Yep, these are really cheap stones to play around with.

Wow, that was fun. What a great idea, thank you. This is why I love PS, I am always learning something new. It turned blue in the rooms with warmer light and changed a bit with the brightest light.

If you like the effect, you can consider having a closed back setting for the emerald. Just want to caveat that I’ve not done this before with emeralds so don’t know if there are any considerations eg the stone is too soft for that kind of setting etc!
