I love that Samantha dress--it would be soooooo cool as a reception dress.

BB - Have you ever checked out Temperley London? Most of her dresses aren''t fully beaded, but a lot of them have some serious glitz on top. She has a wedding line (which is unfortunately not online), with some really, really awesome dresses if you can make it to one of her boutiques.

I almost got this one in cream, and she also has a lot of others with gorgeous swarovski crystals!

Meowtown!!!

I LOVE that Temperly dress!!!!!!

BlondeBunny, have you checked out the Antik Batik ones? Like the Dinah dress (which I think s at shopbop and net-a-porter)

or the Studio Mix dress from Antik batik...that one even comes in white paillettes and crystals, if you were wanting to keep it bride-y

hi,
just want to chime in about wearing more than one dresses
in my culture, it''s not uncommon to have 3 dresses
white dress for church
red dress for the traditional ceremony
third dress (any color/style) for cutting cake/dancing

i''m not complaining

I had 4 dresses total for our wedding. My wedding dress, two traditional Chinese dresses (Qun Kwa & Qi Pao), and an evening gown. It''s tradition, and I wouldn''t do it any other way. But the total cost of all 4 dresses is probably less than the cost of some people''s 1 dress.

I wore wedding dress for ceremony and reception entrance, change to Qun Kwa after first dance, then change to Qi Pao for tasting, and then evening gown for cake cutting & dancing.

what are you looking for exactly?? Do u wanna devote a thread just to that?? I can start searching since Ill now officially a BIW! :-)

Well, I''m 5''3 and about a size 4-6. you''ve seen me in my wedding dress so that should give you a good idea of my body type. I would like something above the knee I think. But...then I just remembered that my girls are all wearing long dresses. I can''t wear anything with a high neck cause I don''t have a small chest. I like things with pockets and I like somethings that no one else would wear. More importantly, I need to try it on before I buy it. What do you think? Any ideas?

EM1,

Check out the other thread that Lauren posted about tea length dresses, there are some beautiful ones in there!

I am interested in this thread because I''m considering having another dress for my reception. It would be more like what Cleopatra did, because it would be a 1-2 hour dress at the very end of the night, so I wouldn''t miss wearing my wedding dress for any of the important official stuff. I am Catholic so I am going to get my money''s worth in the dress (my BMs too!) since the ceremony will be so long and start so early. I wouldn''t change into my second dress until probably 8 or 9:00 at night. So I''m looking for something short and fun too! Good luck.

A little late but it used to be tradition that the bride would have two dresses, one of the ceremony and a leaving dress. I was actually surprised to see brides not doing that nowadays.

Do whatever makes you feel great :).
