We have been hiking around our house, but avoiding the streets. I live in a nature preserve/ hoa community. We have trials and creeks and a lake to explore. Luckily the ones nearest to my home are not as popular. I live in the northernest part of the Ca central coast, about 35 minutes from the ocean. A few days ago I took the kids for a drive to Morro Bay to maybe get their feet wet depending on how crowded it was. But the parking was closed off so we just drove around with the windows down and took in the crisp ocean air. Though it was nice to get out, since we have been home since the 13th, I decided we won't be taking any more trips any time soon. mmm.jpg

I would love to live on the Central Coast! I am pretty jealous. We spend several months a year in Pismo, with our RV. I am so missing it this year. We had plans for April but will have to cancel it.
Maybe we will get Sept-Nov this year, if we are very lucky.

I think walks outside are a no go for me anymore as this pandemic is expected to get worse.
I am going to sew some masks for my family today. We have a couple N95's but I will just add these for good measure in case one of us comes down with something.

Sigh. I’m going to have to start calling for safety walking escorts when I go to work. Somebody decided to throw something at me the other day while yelling random racial nonsense. Great. So much for enjoying walks.

Also many of my Asian Americans are apparently into buying guns now. I have mace and that’s about as armed as I’m prepared to get.

@MakingTheGrade every time I read one of your posts about the assaults people are committing against you my heart (and head) hurts so badly. I wish it would stop, I wish people would get their heads on straight. I wish people would stop passing along their fear, ignorance, and violent natures to their children and excusing/encouraging it in others.

To you and to all healthcare professionals, thank you so much for caring for our health, for putting yourself at risk. I'm sorry you have to endure caring for people who lack the humanity that you yourself have in spades.

Thanks for all the sympathy guys. It’s more annoying than anything. Trying to stay zen amid all this is trickier when some knucklehead thinks we’re back on kindergarten playground again. I grew up getting teased about being Chinese so having weird de ja vu in a way these days. At least people aren’t randomly demanding I say something in Chinese for them.
