But. These stones are gorgeous. They really are. I bought this ring from the clearance case of Kevin jewelers. I asked the sales guy if it was an estate piece. He said that they don’t sell estate pieces. But I asked about how it is thinned out due to sizing. He said no. New piece. Ok. I love the stones. It was sold as a .75 tcw but according to my calipers, its more like a .90. Then I notice that there seems to be traces of sizing. Ugh. Did he lie? Then I focus on the prongs. Are they worn down or Is that ty style?
I have a 7 day exchange policy and he said no refunds but if he lied about it, I’m sure I can get a refund. I only want a refund if the prongs are so worn out that it doesn’t justify keeping the ring.
I paid 650 out the door. And stones are Uncertified but sold as G-h si2. Comparing to my ering, I think that’s accurate.
What would you do?

they're probably just cheapy quality and not substantial. I'd probably trust that it was a new piece. Maybe it was returned after sizing, which is shady, but I doubt that the prongs are so worn down from years of wear and that they could sell it as new.

Do you have a loupe? If so, how do the prongs look magnified?

It seems to me that if you already bought it, with no money back guarantee, you should wear and enjoy it!
$650 is pretty durn cheap:)

There's no possible way to accurately assess the prongs from pictures

It is pretty and you got a great deal. I would keep it (or sell it to me)!

To me it looks like they didn't have quite enough metal for each individual prong...so they banged it down/flattened the prongs more so that it looked like it has substantial prongs :confused2:...those prongs are wide and flat...

IMG_6393.JPG Looks like a super buy for the price. On your pic, is there a prong on the left (at all) and is the one on the right actually touching the stone? See red circles.

That said, what would you be able get on an exchange that is that blingy for the price? I'd wear it and enjoy it and someday retip the prongs (or harvest the stones for some project...)

Thank you all. I decided to keep it bc the stones are non stop bling!!!! I suspect it is estate but I guess that’s why it worked in my favor. Lol. Non mall quality. Gonna take it to one of my jewelers to have it sized and looked over!
