Are these feathers a durability issue?

Just started looking at AGS reports since I've decided I am going to buy a diamond from the US since UK service is terrible. This is an SI1, half a carat - everything else about the stone seems awesome so not worried about posting about that atm. The stone is eye clean, but the feathers seem quite large on the inclusion plot. My partner is really worried about durability risks which is why I've made a few threads regarding them. If you lot think the stone is fine then hopefully she'll be alright with it too as it's a decent price ^^.

If you need more details then let me know, but I have just tried to include relevant details for the feathers alone.

Hmm ok seems no opinions on that lol, what about this one? It's 0.7 SI1 (AGS) the feather doesn't seem like it would be too big a deal:

It's the weekend so I guess the experts are all busy.

For what it's worth, the feather in the first one is the grade setting inclusion which would make me avoid it. You haven't listed the key to symbols for the second one. How far down the list is it? With the inclusions on the table, is it eye clean?

Thanks for the reply.

Second is crystals/feather - the feather is in the second pic on the right side of it. No confirmation of eye-clean or not, I've asked the vendor - only worried about durability in this thread :).

It is my understanding that the feather drawn on the plot is showing the amount of the feather that is actually reaching the surface of the diamond. The feather on the second diamond is probably fine as it is quite small and isn't on the girdle. I'm no expert but it wouldn't scare me off.

Come back and post pics of the diamond you end up going with as well as the ring! Good luck! :wavey:

On both diamonds I do not see the feathers being a durability problem. Feathers that cut through the girdle and continue to the top and bottom of the stone can be a durability problem. Also on corners, points and the culet.

Thank you for the replies, good to know :). I will definitely upload pics of the diamond/ring I end up getting my partner ^^. Taking our time at the moment got a few things to consider yet :)

I am going to concur with 30years here. If you search other threads you may find some debate on PS about feathers on the girdle, corners, points, and culet being a durability problem. Regardless of whether the diamond has feathers or not, it's a good idea to carry insurance on your jewelry, since any diamond can chip if banged against something the wrong way.

Thanks again for the replies. I have read around a bit, but still not quite grasped when feathers are definitely not an issue due to some disagreement. Here's a close-up pic of the diamond, a fairly large crystal on the table which could itself be a durability issue, the feather is top-left, I don't know if it reaches the surface or not. No confirmation regarding eye-clean or not yet:
