I came upon a Lucere' cut diamond recently, definitely this branded cut as the diamond is laser inscribed with a number. It is a .55 VS1, H color.

Question is are these diamonds actually hard to find or just not in demand? I looked on EBay and didn't find any currently for sale or recently sold.

I've never heard of them until I googled after reading this. They seem like they are quite interesting. I've always liked asschers from afar, but have thought I might not love the steps long term. This might be the resolution to that.

I dont really know the answer to your question. I suspect its like most branded cuts that arent put out by Kays etc. So, yes, probably a little
harder to come by. Doesnt mean its in high demand though because its harder to find (IMO). I do really like the cut though.

Here is one that shows the AGS report so you can see the cut. Kind of cool...

We've seen a few being offered by dealers- stones that have found their way into the secondary market- few and faaaaar betweeeeeen

I found one recently on either JA or BN and I posted about it. I can’t remember when though. Maybe a month or two ago.

Is it just a step cut crown with a brilliant pavilion??

Can you comment about pricing? What would be a reasonable cost for that diamond, I wouldn't even know where to start without being able to find one comparable.

I can’t find the post. I’m pretty sure it was blue Nile and I searched asschers, emeralds and probably cushions and then just looked for outliers. That is how I found it. Then I posted something like “what would you call this cut” on rocky talky.

As a general rule ( I have not looked at the specific listing you've seen )..I'd say the price should be comparable to a well cut Asscher, MQ,PS,etc....of the same grade and size

It looks pretty. Do you have more pics!

Looks like a Tiffany true. I found the thread

@whitewave, that is a gorgeous stone, I remembered after you mentioning that you had posted a stone like this before.

I just wish this was a little bit bigger because I feel like it is going to face up small and it will be hard to appreciate the faceting.

@Mrs_Strizzle, it really is an interesting cut, I've had a princess but this is a cool looking hybrid and I believe it would possibly have better light return.

@tyty333, thanks for posting that one with the report, it is neat to see the cut on these, I wasn't actually looking for this just kind of ran into it.

@OoohShiny here is what I found out about the cut:

The Lucère diamond represents a new option in a square-cut stone that exhibits exceptional brilliance and dispersion. The diamond has a step-cut crown and brilliant pavilion. The tables are kept small to capture enhanced dispersion from the diamond.
lucere-diamond-ringThere are 65 facets in a Lucère diamond: 25 facets on the crown and 40 facets on the pavilion. The stones are hand-cut in the company’s factory in Johannesburg. Table sizes on the Lucère range from 54 to 63 percent and total depths run from 67.3 to 74.2.

@nala, this pic is it for now, maybe more later :Up_to_something:
