These are the inspiration photos I sent to the vendor. It's a custom ring done by JBEG. I know that cad/cast is generally less flexible and fine as hand forged. I'm hoping that ERD can replicate it, but what are your thoughts on how hard it is to do these dainty split claws? Is rather do a prong style with guaranteed success rather than try to force something difficult to do in cad/cast.

They are hard to do, but ERD's bench can do them just fine.

Why don't you speak to Erica about making the design for your stone?

Good to know about ERD! I looked for photos of their split claws but only found Meg's hand forged halo, while I'm doing cad cast.

It's a good point about Erica. I had already engaged with ERD prior to finding these photos. I figured it's a relatively straightforward design so I'm hoping ERD can replicate it closely. The tricky Part is the fineness of the basket where it meets the prongs and the prongs themselves.

I have never dealt with ERD but their work that I have seen here always looks beautiful. I have to say the prongs on my JbEG ring were spectacular. So tiny and elegant. I would definitely reach out to her about it.

The prongs on your Gladys rosebud are gorgeous. Logistically it's easier to go with ERD, so I'll specify that I want them as dainty as possible.
