Are baking Queen Mary Berry's pearls real ?

So I'm not a fan of her as a judge so i don't watch the shows she is in - im more an Aussie master cheif kind of gal - if you havn't seen the 'Oz version of master cheif its completly different to the UK and American one - the skill level is tnrough the roof and the contestants and the judges are just plain old nicer ...

But i am going off on a tangent
...now im worried this should be posted in hang out ?

Anyway anyway so i don't see much of Mary but i keep seeing her pearls on the add on tv for her latest show ummmm? British best home cooks ???
They look like Wilma Flintstones, i can't stop thinking about them

So i did some googerling and found Mary on the red carpet wearing said pearls

She has tons of pearls infact
Pearls seem to be her thing
I gotta admit i was kinda shocked how old she was, how ling she's been on tv and how many pearl necklases she has

thoughts anyone ?

The eggy shapes of her Klonk strand lead me to believe they are cultured, all nacre FW pearls. With the large,rounder, bead nucleated FW pearls now available, I suspect we will be seeing less and less of these large all nacre pearl necklaces.

I'm sure that last photo would be big freshwaters as you would not dye WSS blue lol But she does have several very nice pieces that look to be South Sea and Tahitian . Yum

My initial reaction after seeing the close ups is that they are more likely to be real CFWPs and not SSPs.

The pale blue ones are likely to be dyed.

I have no idea about pearls, but I do know Mary & her husband are extremely wealthy & always have been. They raised their children in a very large Georgian country house with several acres of land & he collects classic cars, so she certainly has pennies to spend.

They don’t look perfectly round, so I’d say they’re real.

Considering that she is wearing the same necklace in her Commander of the Order of the British Empire photo, I think it’s safe to assume those pearls are very valuable.

Last night i was watching last year's Mary Berry royal Christmas where she hung out with Wills and Kate and some of their charities and cooked for a reception in honour of those charities
Made me a little sad because this year we have nothing like that because of the pandemic

But anyway
I felt slightly embarrassed when i just googled Mary Barry pearls and recognised my own chaotic exuberant writting

Got same great close up views of them on the big telly

I must say she seemed a much nicer lady last night when she wasn't being a reality tv show judge
She seems to wear these ones a lot
The internet is full of Maggie Berry inspired station pearl necklases

I noticed she always wears pearls. Last time I watched, she was wearing egg shaped freshwaters.
That guy she cooks with is easy on the eyes

I love those big, big, big all nacre klonks. Just think about how long those pearls stayed inside the mussel before they were harvested. I never mind the off roundness of them because they are rare in that size and especially rare to have good luster. She wears them well with her bright colored dress and petite frame.

I would say that most of them most assuredly are. Mary is loaded and seems to favor a refined affect.

This is the necklace that I associate the most with Mary Berry - she wears it almost every time I see her on a tv series. I had no idea that she had those other pearls in her collection - how amazing!

From what I remember- at some point pearl lovers coined the term "Klonks" for FW all nacre pearls that were 12mm or bigger. This was before the bead nucleated FW pearls were popular. The smaller strands make a klink sound and the bigger pearls a klonk.

i do assume she has a lot of money
she has done a lot of tv and books over a long time
(Last night was the first time i actually almost liked her)
her other pearls i would think are real
Maybe Edisons?
I wouldn't really know
But you have a professionally trained eye ....
And i have brought pearls from the mall jewler
