Appraisers in Bay Area?

Totally behind the times. Just read the story on Dan Mokma. Where can I get my ring appraised in the Bay Area since my e-ring is from his store? And what can I expect to pay? I''m really frustrated about this whole thing. argh

I have heard excellent recommendations for independant appraiser Nancy Stacey, in the Bay Area. I'm not sure of her prices, you may have to call. (Do a search for appraisers above).
I have also heard Joe Escobar Diamonds in Campbell is doing free certificate verification/ receipt verification/ verbal appraisals on items from this jeweler, as a favor to the community.
