It's going to have to be a long term one... for 2010. But unless I have something in mind and to work toward, I'll spend the $$ on something else (gemstone projects anyone?), and I do want a diamond project they are fun.

I'm thinking of a budget of around 3K. White gold. Diamonds. Something very wearable. Not a ring. Either earrings or a pendant. I want bang for buck. So ovals, rounds, or pears I think would be preferred. Anyone wanna play?

Oooh, I''ll play, I love diamond games!

I know which I''d say, but this isn''t for me. When you think of those two things, which one gets your heart pittering more?

How about bezel studs? I''d like some, too!

Fun Gypsy!
What do you already have diamonds-wise? As in, do you have a pendant or diamond earrings?

OH! FUN! How about one of the bezel necklace! It''s beautiful, and can go with just about EVERYTHING!

If you were willing, you could get smaller diamonds, and get matching studs and a necklace! Or you could get nice warm toned stones and still get all 3!

Hmmm. I think I''d put $1500 toward .50 tcw bezel studs and $1500 towards a delicate DBY type necklace (short! like 15-16" so it can be paired with other pendant necklaces eventually).

OR ... if I could find a Lucida bezel pendant 2nd hand for 3K ... I''d snap that up instead!

I''m loving something like a three stone pendant, set one above the other, and flexible in between. Can be done with a pear diamond at the bottom, and either diamonds or colored stones above. Maybe star-set squares. Could be colored diamonds or older cuts. You have lots of time to shop for stones that appeal to you and are in your price range.

Oooh, I love the idea of earrings AND a DBY chain. I don't have either of them... yet.

But I love larger stud earrings... 1 ctw, so that's out. I could get Expert Selection WF studs and upgrade.

I do eventually really want a warmer stone. And I'm dying for an Infinity cut stone... and so I'm thinking of a bezel pendant on an M-N-O infinity stone.

But I love pear pendants. And Pears show color on the point. So Ideally I'd want a G.. but they cost less per carat... BUT are hard to find. I'd adore a pear bezel set pendant. That would be something I'd wear everyday. I saw one at Tiffany's and my eyes about popped out of my head. That's what sets my heart a patter the most. A bezel set pear pendant with a little bail. Or a round and pear bezel pendant like the Peretti two round diamond pendnat. That might be a bit showy for everyday.

You know I've never found a pic of that pear pendant I saw at the Tiffany store in Palo Alto? And I can't remember if it was Swing collection or Peretti? I think it was Swing though. It was just.... breathtaking. And not huge. 5x7 pear. No bowtie and bright as fire though.

mmmm.... pear pendant. Anyone up to helping me find a pic of a Tiffany Bezeled Pear Pendant that I've never seen online? LOL.

I think pear pendants are also SO flattering on the neckline. That''s what I would do.

A halo pear pendant!

Since that pear pendant made your heart go pitter patter that is definitely what you should work towards on your new project. It will be lovely too.

I agree. I just checked prices and I can get about a .80 ... around 5 x 7 for that budget. Leaving room for a setting. Sounds like a match. Would be a lovely peice to pass down too, timeless.

Now to find a pic of the pendant I want. Hmm....

Hurray for the pear!!! I think pears make wonderful pendants!
