Seems a little high for a 5mm stone. I''ve seen .50-.60 go for 3-400 or less. Pretty stone though.

I usually look for those at or below $10 per point (therefore .60 carat no more than $600) but this one looks especially clean and is pretty colorless with great looking faceting. I agree it''s more than I''m willing to pay, but still a decent deal for someone looking for a nice vintage stone who don''t have the confidence or experience to be able to pick one out.

I saw that. It does look nice, doesn''t it?

Very pretty stone--can't. buy. right. now--must. look. away...

only an hour and a half left!! still at lowest bid.........

Coati, you know you want to!!!!!!!

Thanks for posting that! I was too late seeing your post, but please keep an eye out for another good one, okay?

I''m sorry, butterbean!!! It was a nice stone, but I do tend to watch as many vintage stones as I can find. I tend to feel like a desire to "foster" these stones to a good home. If you tell me what size/quality/character stone you are looking for I''ll keep an eye out for you!!

thoughts on this one?

sorry it's not clicky :-(

I think the setting is to die for!!!! It's hard to tell much about the stone, other than it doesn't look horrible. There is no indication of color or clarity, though the pictures seem to show a pretty faceting.

Have you asked them for more infomation or more detailed pictures?

If you're looking for an entire piece, at this price I'd bid! If you're looking for just a stone, there isn't enough info to know, and I'd hate to see the setting defaced by pulling the stone out.

I had that stone in my watch list, but didn''t bid. I know OECs are deeper, but isn''t 5mm a bit small face up for a .60 carat?

"Diamond Fairy Godmother" then. I could definitely use one. I''ve been on PS over a year now, changing my mind many times on settings, but after seeing Coatimundi''s absolutely gorgeous reset into James Meyer''s capable hands, I went to his site and found "THE ONE." Then, of course started looking for my OEC. Mr. Meyer has a .66 EGL I color, VS1 that is 5.6mm for $2,375. He said it is very lively and quite spectacular. I, of course believe him about the appearance 100%, but was hoping for a bit more size and lower price. (a common affliction it seems.) My thought is that possibly a good trade-off would be clarity and color for larger size. The setting for my e-ring will be 18k yellow with a plat. millegrained bezel.

Dream stone:
A "spectacular" OEC (second choice would be modern RB, GIA ex) that''s full of life, sparkle and fire.
Closer to 6mm
I - J - K - L - M color. Blue fluorescence a big plus here.
Clean SI-2 is fine, since I have 50 year old eyes

All of this on a budget of under $2,000 for the stone. Of course, less is better. Any help you can give will be appreciated many, many times over.

I''ll keep an eye out for you. Your requests are not unreasonable. Watch for a thread entitled Butter Bean in Rocky Talk. That''s how I''ll alert you or keep you updated on what''s currently on auction.

Will do. I check in daily ... at least once, and usually more.
