Hi I am trying to find a simple engagement ring setting. Just wondering if anyone knows of an affordable ring with the specs I am looking for.
here is what I would like to find:
very thin (less than 2mm, thinner the better)
1/2-3/4 eternity (diamonds covering 1/2-3/4 around the band, not sure if eternity is the proper term?)
fishtail or shared prong pave
flush fit (not sure if this is the proper term, but something that is the same width all the way around so a wedding band will sit flush against the ring)

Does anyone know of such a beast? Or maybe something similar?

thanks!

Well, not knowing exactly what you consider affordable, I'd still suggest Gottlieb & Sons. View their online catalog. They have quite a few thin eternity/semi-eternity bands and engagement rings. Mine is by them and it is 2mm wide, and flat, just like you're after.

The catalog has a nifty spinner feature too, so you can get side views of the sets. They don't post prices, so you'll have to find a store that carries them, but I assure you, they are high quality and MUCH prettier than any online picture could show.

There are others out there of course and I'm sure they will chime in, but I really like their stuff.... :)

Good luck finding something!

Have you thought about customizing it?

Sounds similar to my ring, in my avatar.

I got it from my jeweler (where I got my stone), it was only $1000 for white gold. I just showed them a few photos like Michael B's princess ring

Hi ph! My ering is by Gabriel & Co (and I have 2 matching bands to flank either side), and they have a new setting that's similar to mine but is a bit updated. It will sit flush and it's 3/4 pave. Good Old Gold carries it but I'm sure other vendors do too. Here's a link, it's really affordable too. http://shop.goodoldgold.com/index.cfm/a/catalog.prodshow/vid/46574/catid/162

Good luck!

I have this one from JA for a colored stone ring. It should be flush-fit if the w-band is set low enough (and I know this one has a matching w-band too). It's 1.9 mm, and it's only $750 in 18 kt. white gold (although you have to factor in about $100 in setting fee with JA). Shared prong, diamonds go down 3/4 of the way.

Yep that's it Jess! Thanks so much! :)

the ones you posted are beautiful! Great options for PH too!

thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'm going to check these out. I'm sure I'll be back to ask for stone advice soon.
thanks again

I really like the prongs on this one. Did the ring come that way or did you have it modified?

I asked JA to do very fine, thin claw prongs (like Leon Mege's work). I'm really happy with how they came out! Whoever you go with, ask the jeweler for claw prongs :)
